signguy- I've admired your clean and classy paint for a while now. chiefiron- glad to see you back, dig the chrome wheels u4euh- That is probably the most unique buell yet. I'm surprised you didn't go with white paint instead of black ala white lightning. |

heres mine... no crazy mods yet. it came good looking from the factory anyone know how to take the reflectors off easily? up front, i figured it's just taped/glued on there. i tried doing it in the back but there are little dimples that keep the reflectors in place with the turn signals are mounted. also that plastic canister on the left side of the bike... anyway to take that off and put on a breather or something? |

the reflectors come off pretty easy. i just used a hair dryer and a small piece of wood.(so not to scratch anything). once they are warm the tape will slowly release. the wood i used was a piece of wedge from when i installed a new door in my house. hope it helps you. enjoy! |

The plastic canister that you are referring to, do you mean the intake air scoop?? If so, I would probably recommend not removing that. |

Neema, The black cannister is just a charcoal cannister filter for the fuel tank breather tube. This is only found on CA bikes, and can definitely be removed. Personally, I just cut the plastic tube where it goes up under the airbox cover and tucked the rest of the tube in along the inside the frame. Does not affect bike performance or engine at all. It's basically just for CA emissions crap... |

you do need to cap off the barb fitting on the throttle body if you remove the canister. otherwise you will have a vacuum leak. |

U4euh, what kind of "handles" are those on the back, they aren't too intrusive and my girl complains all the time that she feels like she is gonna fall off all the time. I could rig up a very small trick backrest from them. That airbox is sweet too, and I'll bet it makes some nasty noise too, if the inner box is off. |

I think that the "handles" are actually the frame for the detachable bags that he has. U4euh, I love the look of the bike, but the comment about having white plastics is pretty cool. I bet you could pick up an exrta set pretty easily and get it painted. That would be pretty cool to have an interchangeable black or white lightning. |

Rafartist-the handles are the main structure for the Ventura Rack luggage system. A buddy of mine (rubberdown) had an S model then switched to the R, so he could no longer use them. I made a grag handle out of an old shop light. That really makes my wife and daughter feel safer on the bike also. You can get just these two pieces from the website. Google 'Ventura Rack' and that should bring up the address. As far as the white plastics go, I think it is a great idea. HMMM anyone have some they need to get rid of? And the noise from the airbox is ridiculous, when I jump on it, it screams drag bike. At least inside of my helmet! The air intake is louder than the modded pipe I have on there. Everyone says that the bike sounds really good going around them, but earplugs are my friend. (Message edited by u4euh on April 06, 2006) |

Coyote...Does your bike shift 1 up, 4 down with the shift linkage going to the front of the input shaft thru the primary cover? My shift linkage goes to the backside and the Buell site has it going to the rear also? Just Curious. |

Toona- I reversed the shift pattern to the race style shift. I have been using that since my days riding gsx-r's and zx7's. Spike- good eye...damn Cycle Gear!! This is the first Metzler set I have had on here so was not familiar with the pattern. Doh!! |
