Hi all, been browsing these forums for a little while, I'm loving all the info I am getting here. I am going to be off my military deployment this June and will pick up my new XB12R at the dealer as soon as I get back. When I do, I will be getting a few performance mods. Looking around the Buell website and www.americansportbike.com I have pretty much become set on the Micron exhaust system, Buell race ecm, and a K&N filter. My question is how the Micron's powerband would be with this setup. I am mainly looking for more low to midrange power increase (makes more sense to me). I just wanted to justify the price of the Micron system, and if that is the system for my wants. To put it short, is the Micron system a top end system or a low/mid system? Thanks all, Sam |

Sam, Our experiences are showing that the Micron is an everywhere system. Good up top, good in the midrange, good down low. Take a look here: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/17143/162217.html?1139896061, follow the thread back. The plots you'll find there are older, we have plots after additional tuning now that peak above 100RWHP that I'll post up there soon. Note that they are after tuning to optimize the ECM for the pipe. Al (Message edited by al_lighton on February 14, 2006) |

Samiam, you may think about getting the directlink from Al or Dave instead of the Race ECM. They have a tool to map your stock ECM to the mods that you have instead of using the Race ECM that is set up for the race kit. You will get better results and I believe the price is pretty similar to getting the Buell part. They are still working on getting all of the maps together, but I believe the Micron was one of the first ones they were working on. I'm sure by the time you get back from over seas they will have everything ready to be purchased and installed for you. Just a thought. Come back in one piece man. |
