So I call my friend over to help me loosen up the sprocket nut and in the process we broke a ratchet. Good thing it was a craftsman. We had a 2 foot bar attached to the ratchet and it didn't budge. How tight is this crap??? Then we had one person bounce on it and it didn't move a hair. I was told that its reverse threaded so that means clockwise loosens and counter-clock tightens. That correct? The service manual doesn't go into detail about this... |

use a 1/2 impact to break it loose, but dont use it to put back on |

Engine Sprocket??? Front primary sprocket RH thread new higher torque value use a long breaker bar (No Inpact) not good for the crank. Rear primary sprocket LH thread much lower torque, just use a 1/2 inch breaker bar (No Impact.) I have used Impact guns for years until a great engine builder showed me the load and twist it puts on the crank pin. ... Terry |

So to loosen the front primary sprocket is clockwise? |

If possible heat fasteners which are using red locktite to approx. 400 degrees before attempting to loosen. |
