The tallest gear you can pull seriously though, I don't remember what gearing we ran last fall on our 12r race bike. We did go tall though. |

I'd say look at 21 front and 45 rear. That is the tallest combo you can make out of those 4 gears. The big question is do you have the HP to Use it all. Ideally you should be hovering almost at red line when you come around to turn 1. I recommend trying to make the track day on thursday so you can make any changes you need to. Daytona is very different from the other tracks. |

Ask Bilansky at Hal's for Daytona gearing recommendations. He's really approachable. Hals has most common stuff in stock AND can move it out quick. 21/46 is probably a good start but if you aren't dang near rev limit, 20/45, then 21/45 Again, ask Dan Bilansky what he runs. He's run the Buells there a bunch of seasons now. (Message edited by slaughter on February 13, 2006) |

Or Rich over at racingmotorcycles.com, or AL over at Americansportbike.com, or Dave S at Appleton. Any of these guys should have you in business before Daytona. But you need to get the order in very soon! In 3 weeks the ASRA CCS races will be a memory. Time is short! (Message edited by diablobrian on February 13, 2006) |

Hey Keith! I'm going to start Mutation_Racer up with the 22 tooth front sprocket & 42 rear sprocket. We're going to do the track day on Thursday to try it out and get the suspension set up. I'm probably going to contact Vortex and get the odd numbered sprockets to fill in what we already have, but we'll see how this setup works. Look for our tent & truck and we'll have a cold one on me after setup & tuning We were going to do motor work but once we ordered the XBRR, everything got put on hold. Man I can not wait until we get that baby in and prepped! If you can get your hands on an XB12 crank assembly & XB9 pistons, it would be a wise & economical investment in your motor for some good power. Looking forward to seeing you and everyone else!
