wife says " well if they're both in a purple jug they should work fine"
I say that the best indicator that you have an appropriate product is up near the top right part of the label where they have spelled out the word "OIL".

High performance manual transmission oil vs High performance automotive gear oil.
I usually use gear oil in the tranny but I bought the top one by mistake.
My trannys not gonna grenade if I put the top stuff in is it?

I ran that crap in my RV once, and the motor burned up shortly after. So after a little reading, I heard it is sorta hand mixed rather than the computer controlled processes that the big boys in the Syn. biz use.?

what's the viscosity of the synchromax? remembering of course that motor oil and gear oil ratings are not on the same scale.

IIRC 20-50 motor oil is roughly the same viscocity as 75-90 gear oil.

According to their ad copy it should be OK,

Why mess around. The price of these bikes, and the fact that it seems you care, combines to make me say take it back and get something you know to be right rather than drive around wondering if your tearing things up unnecessarily.

Man than sentence is a mouthful. A terrible writer I am.

Ya thas a pretty good idea.
Only reason I even noticed was because I forgot to buy the filter,so I had to go back today and wala there was the gear oil sitting right next to the stuff I bought AND for a dollar less.

20-50 is roughly (if not exactly) the same as 75-90 gear oil WRT viscosity. That said... Use gear oil for gears and motor oil for crank cases.

their product info says it is made for use with clutch materials Like you find in limited slip differentials.

Even so, go trade it for the right stuff.
