I need a new seat for my City X. I am not real tall and the City X seat though comfortable, is a little tall for me and I do not feel as stable as I should. I like the looks of the select seat. Does anybody out there have one? Also, I am interested in some carbon fiber for my XB and wanted to know a good source for a good price. Thanks! Greg M. |

I have a CityX and a select seat for my XB9, the select does lower you an inch or so and does get you into a more "stable" riding position. You can't go wrong with the select seat. PMC |

I second the Select Seat. I also have the City-X and IMO it is a big improvement. I rode with it for the first time yesterday (about 200 miles) and have zero complaints. It allows you to feel more integrated into the bike instead of feeling like you are sitting on top of the bike. Also I have yet to see anyone that has been unhappy with the Select Seat and I can't say the same for the other seats. As far as the carbon fiber well if want the better quality it is not going to be cheep. Also if you buy from different vendors make sure that they are the same pattern. |

But from one vendor is the primary thing. Weaves are different everywhere, and type of CF are as well. There is hand laid, wet lay-up, pre-preg, on and on with the different types. The American Sport Bike and factory parts are by far the best quality "I" have ever seen for the Buells. You will get EXACTLY what you pay for, either way!!! Be careful, look around, call and ask questions about the products you are interested in. I have seen bulk deals, and independent part deals made of CF components, so do your research. Have fun, and Good Luck |

About the CF, I bought an extended hugger from American Sport Bike and it is a very nice quality CF. |

Greg....I have the Select Seat on my 03' 9s and is the best money I have spent. Much improvement over stock. As far as the CF is concerned, I have the tools an ability to make my own (see profile). Once I started then I had to make all of it because the weaves wouldn't match. Speedfreak is absolutely correct. Buy all your carbon from the same vendor. I have spoken with Al at www.americansportbike.com at length about CF and his quality is awesome. A lot of time and money goes in to the tooling of the molds which is a direct result of the price. Don't wast your time or money with cheep CF on ebay 'cause that is what you'll get. It's thick, heavy and doesn't fit. I can post pics if you like of both the seat and the CF. |

I can save you 10% on the select seat if you want one. I also sell the factory CF pieces(also 10% off) as well as HillBilly Motors CF I am going to be out of the office for the next 2 weeks but you can PM me anytime if you have questions. Thanks Dave |

Thanks, you guys are the best. I am going after the select seat. Looks like I can get the Carbon Fiber from Dave. I placed a bid on a select seat on the the Big-E but since Dave can get one, I would rather get it from him so if someone outbids that is fine. Dave I will call you about the Carbon Fiber, I will start off with the airbox and fly-screen and go from there. I can't wait to change up the look a little. Greg M. |

Black Sunshine, Show those pics of the fiber and the seat if you can. Sounds interesting. I will go with the good stuff like all of you have advised. I have noticed the different weaves and I do want them to match. Thanks again for the info everyone. Greg M. |

Awesome!! I am getting a fever for this CF stuff and the only cure is to get some of these things. Your bike is looking great. It looks like it will take some time to gather up all of this stuff. There are so many parts to get. The wife will be ok with this as long as I add it slowly. Thanks for the pictures. I am so ready for some riding weather here in KY. Your bike is looking wicked!! I like the bar-ends and the seat looks very good. Greg M. |

Black Sunshine, Wow I wish I had the CF pucks. I put the regular ones on my XB and I bet they would be tough to get off the frame, so I might just leave them alone. The CF pucks look really good though. Greg M. |

Greg....actually the stock pucks are under the CF. I made a really thin shell (1 layer) to "snap" over the rubberish ones. In case of a fall they will just crumble like piece of paper. Thanks for the compliments...I have put a lot of time and effort into my bike. |
