Cuell, isn't it fun when you begin a project and end up having tons of leftover bolts. I don't break parts, I just lose them. |

This is funny, but its not - when I was 16 my best friend and I worked at a shop in Juneau, AK called the Honda Hut. I detailed cars for the showroom, he helped in the shop, and built 3 wheelers (thats dates me eh - ) when they came out of the crate. He always had nuts and bolts left over, and never the same amount.
We laughed, but its not really very funny. We laughed anyway. We were 16 . . . |

I had an accident on my Interceptor in '85. I was down for months so figured it would be a good time for some mods. The usual Vance & Hines slip ons, rejet the carbs, hotter coils, etc. As the bike came apart all was well. After I was finished it would barely start, ran sometimes, but not well at all. I spent $100's more in time and tech help until one day I said I was going thru the electrical system to see what I could find. I found one pin in a connector bent over and not making contact. Fired right up and ran great from there. You have only just begun. Oh, I was P.O.'d...... |

well i think mine is a combo of short plug wires, fouled plugs, and needing a race ecm. So im going to try all that, then see where i end up |

Hey Odie, I had a couple of interceptors. Those things were terribly sensitive
to carb synchronization. Definitely a "mechanic's bike"
The 1000 interceptor I had was a torque monster very much like the Buells. |

I've got a bad day story for you. I spent two days putting a full exhaust and a PCIII on my CBR1000RR. I was a big job - those things are really tight to work on and getting at the FI connectors to hook up the PCIII was a bitch. When I finally got it all buttoned back up I took it for a test ride to the car wash to spray off all the finger prints and smudges. It worked amazing! I pushed it out of the wash bay to shammy it off. When I was done it wouldn't start. Turned over but wouldn't catch. I ****** around with it for about an hour before I finally called a buddy with a truck to pick me up. Got home and took it all apart - thought I got water in the FI connections or something. Put it all back together again and it still wouldn't start. I was cursing....my buddy just started laughing out of the blue. He was looking at the kill switch - I accidentally hit it when I pushed it out of the carwash!! |

That's another thing I like about my XB- if the switch is off, I don't hear the fuel pump. Time for FINE-C again... |

Diablo- I agree. I had to buy a carb sync'er and it took some tweakin' but finally got it right. I loved that bike. I really would've liked a 1000 but didn't have 1000 money at the time. I still can't believe I paid $3600 NEW out the door for it in '85. Should'a kept it, and my Triumph, and my 900 Sporty hardtail, and my....... |
