First thing to say is. The stock tires suck. I have 2500 exactly on the bike, and the rear is shot. Not good. Stock seat sucks, but I am tall, and need to move back about an inch. Any suggestions there would help mega. The pegs on the S suck too. Put R pegs on them, but lost out in the comfort section. Still did about a 100 miles earlier this week. Aggressive settings on the suspension are great for handling, but after about 100 miles are akin to riding a hardtail. Real opinion. I love it. It is a trip to ride. But I am still kicking myself in the butt for not waiting. I could have had an SS for the same price. And at 6'4" or about, it would make a difference to me.A big difference. Qs. Better than stock tires for the S that I can get from a dealer? Replacement pegs or the S that aren't the stock pegs but give me more room? Are fatter grips better for people like me who are larger? Any comments on seats for bigger people? As always TIA. |

Dude, get the City X seat! The taller height buys you a lot more room. I am 6'-3" by the way... |

Qs. Better than stock tires for the S that I can get from a dealer? Scorpion Syncs! They Come on the City-X and they are much better than the Dunflops |

I run Metzler M1 sport tire on the front of my XB9R and Metzler Z6 sport touring tire on the rear. I do this on both my R1 as well as the Buell and I can get close to 5,000 on the rear. I like aggressive /twisties riding an this combo works good for me |

Stretch any tires that you buy will be better than the stockers. I have Conti Road Attacks. I bought the set online for $200. I would recommend buying online and having your dealer put them on. You will save yourself a couple hundo. |

Those roads in FLA with the crushed shells are murder on tires. They used to eat thru the michelin x's on my civic. |

Scorpion Syncs! They Come on the City-X and they are much better than the Dunflops +1 on the Syncs, been using them since I got my bike (come stock on the City X) and I'm really happen with them. I get around 8500 miles out of the rear before the wear bar is gone. (Message edited by cataract2 on February 02, 2006) |

I could have had an SS for the same price. Better yet you could have had a Ulysses for a little more. Black of course. Mike Long Island, NY 06 XB12X Black of course |
