There seems to be a growing interest in Buell Firebolt racing for next season. The easier that there are quality parts available to the racing public the more guys we will have riding these bikes. This is the end goal of our racing project at Kosco HD/Buell and Woodcraft. I am looking for feedback for what parts you guys (people who are looking to race Firebolts) are looking for first. We are going to do clipons, rearsets, swingarms, damper kits etc.... but we are also considering things like triple clamps, special billet chassis parts for racing (i.e. like tie bar mounts we already have) and more. Anyone who would like to make a suggestion please feel free to email me at cfmotors@aol.com. We will also be adding a Buell race parts section to the Woodcraft-cfm.com website after the new year, so you can check out what we have avaialble. Thanks in advance for your feedback. |

Not necessarily for racing but more for sport-touring the Firebolt, I've been looking for slightly higher and wider handlebars. ASB has a nifty handlebar riser that would probably work, but they are not making it for cost reasons. I've seen clip-ons for other bikes that might rise higher than the stock bars, but don't know if they'll fit & nobody's reported trying that idea. There're others that have expressed an interest in such a product. Can you help? Thanks, Sparky |

Sparky, just buy the top tree, bars and clamp off of the 9R. It already exists and works...and matches. |

X1, the triple clamps from the 9S do fit, but the bars won't clear the 9R screen. With a little experimenting with bar bends Sparky can find one to work. Anything can be made to fit... big hammers help. |

Race parts suggestions: - make the "rearsets" adjustable for both height and front/rear location. - make a mount for top mounted steering dampers - much less risk of crash damaging the damper that way :-) - light weight, captive wheel spacers and light spacers for in-between the wheel bearings. The top mounted damper is a good idea, out of harms way, those things are way too expensive to be replacing. Is that swingarm going to be reinforced where the section unbolts for belt changes? If so, it's obviously going to become a chain drive part. Chain conversion kit. Sprockets, spacers, tensioner conversion, etc. If the new swingarm becomes adjustable for wheel position, then the tensioner disappears, right? |

Almost all the race XB's I've seen retain the tensioner. Some home brew setups are the only ones that don't. |

I would be interested in frame sliders and lower bars or maybe clip-ons for my XB9S. |

Well Good news for you guys who want some Buell race parts for the 9R. If you call up Henry Duga at Buell you can purchase a full faring for the 9R. And more than likley a few more tidbits for racing too. Hal's made the swing arm for chain drive. Last time I talked to Henry they were working on a swing arm for that use. So looks like you may have a few options here soon. |

Beautiful rear-sets - you'll feel really bad when/if you crash and wad them up (been there - done that). The adjustability is a great idea. And Court ... I already do Henrik |

Bud, Check Tat's posting on the general discussion board from Jan 8. Text below from that post. And for any of you XB owners looking to complete that race bike with race body work, we’ve got that too, goes for approximately $750 (similar to the looks of Hal’s race bike). |

What about a lowering kit for us short(5'7) drag racers? The firebolt would look very good lowered just 2''. |
