any one have a good source of info on switching over to a carb on an XB motor? any help would be great. as far as I know, I can use a HD 40 mm CV carb (M2 Buell) HD manifold rotor cup from (03 sportster) screaming eagle ignition module (nose cone contained, 03 sporty) carb support bracket (M2 Buell) if there is anything else, please feel free to jump in. I guess now I am going to have my Buell race ECM and the fuel injection system for sale. thanks (Message edited by gonen60 on January 31, 2006) |

This is a very bad choice, Gonen. There is no good downdraft carb, and the advantages of fuel injection over carbs are huge. Fuel injection costs a lot more than a carb, no one would switch to them if they weren't better. People say carbs are easier to tune, but I totally disagree. All the race guys run EFI, even when their motors are radically modified. Why would you ever want to do this? The M2 carb won't work, unless yiou are putting the XB motor in a chopper frame, and even if you are, the EFI will work downdraft or sidedraft. |

That is what i am doing. sorry I didn't state that. My motor, transmission, wheels and front end are going onto a rigid frame. getting all the sensors, brains and fuel pump re-located is very hard, at least that is what I have been told. |

Gonen, you may want to give Daves a call. They were trying a carb on his XB9R race bike a year or two ago. |

As long as it`s going into a rigid , All you need is A carb and intake from an old tuber or sporty. Then pick up an after market ignition. S1Eric |
