i am painting some of the aluminum parts on my 9s. i chopped off the cheese grater and want to paint it flat black along with the brackets that hold up the seat and the heal guards. my thought was to sand the parts, prime them and then paint. what type of paint should i use? thanks brad |

If you are going to use a spray can, Krylon Paints are pretty good. I bake small parts in my kitchen oven for about an hour or two at 150 to 200 degrees , Makes the paint much harder than air drying, and you can recoat in an hour. I80 sand paper to start, 220 between coats. Several light coats are better. |

Thanks Will. If you are going to repaint the tail, you might think about painting it the blue of the rest of the bike, and using an American Sports Bike seat cowl, as you don't use the passenger pegs. Here is how it looks on my bike PS; I also bake fiberglass parts like the cowl. (Message edited by gentleman_jon on January 29, 2006) |

D#$@ it! They don't make that seat cowl cover for the Lightning Long. I guess I'll just have to keep waiting. |
