Well it has been 4 months with out my beloved XB. i took it in to my local dealer for some warrantee work. wile it was in there i thought i would have have my rims sent off and chromed...... thats where it all went horribly wrong! the chromer they used was well lets just say not up to par. they sent the rims back and forth 5 times trying to get them right... yup thats right 5 times and they where still not right. i finally said enough, and they made the chromer refund my money and buy me a new set of rims. so since i was getting a new pair of stock rims. i had them order white ones instead of the ugly yellow ones..well the yellow ones looked good with the original color. they don't match the new paint job.. i think the white ones look as good as the chrome ones would have and they where a whole lot cheaper. i am going to polish the frame next. i would love to here some opinions of what you guy's think?

Great looking bike, really doesn't need a thing but riding. But............... since you did ask, here are several modest proposals: 1. Change the color of the the rear sprocket. I just removed the black paint on mine, used the chrome bolts to mount it. There is a nice anodized aluminum underneath. Or you could get the polished Buell wheel 2. Paint the tail piece to match the cowl. 3. You might take off the passenger pegs: kind of hard to ride on the seat cowl:-) 4. I am not a big fan of the front fork reflectors: you might replace them with a small bit of white reflective tape. 5. Personally, I prefer bar end mirrors, they are steadier, give a good rear view, and lower the line of the bike. I do note however, that you have some nice special ones already installed. But as I said, not one damn thing the matter with it right now: stunning bike, for sure. |

Nice lookin bike! in particular I like the use of the old school Buell graphics. It really works well with the white rims. The black sproket balences the other black items on the bike very well. What would I do if that was my bike? Drop the passenger pegs and brackets. I had thought about repainting my bike silver with the old school graphics "ghosted" in silver candy. The silver linex is calling my name though. Hmm wonder if the linex will f-up my leathers? |

thank you gentleman_jon! i have been thinking about powder coating the rear sprocket white. i leave the passenger pegs on because my girlfriend rides with me a lot. i have another seat i put on there when she rides with me. i am to lazy to take the pegs on and off. i have never really thought about the reflectors. how do you get them off? thanks for the ideas keep them coming!!! The reflectors are just held on by double stick tape. Warm them up with a hair dryer, and they will peel right off. |

Bike looks awesome!! But I would loose my mind if a dealer had my bike for 4 months for warranty work. How much was the paint job? Where did you get those mirrors and grips? Definetly change out the sprocket when you can. Congrats on the bike!! |

the warranty work didn't take long at all. it was the chromer that took for ever. i have a good friend that is a body man. he painted it for me. for the cost of paint. i think you can get the mirrors from trojan or daves can get them for you. they come in black or chrome. the grips are made by pro grips. they are bigger around then the stock grips. i think they are very comfy. i also have blue neon lights on it and strobe lights as well. i will try to get some pics of it with the neons on. will hopefully have them on here sometime tonight or tomorrow morning. |

Are the the white rims listed on the Buell website the same color as the ones that come on the XB9R. They appear to be silver? I know that Uly has wheels that appear to be silver, are they considered white? |

the metallic green and white looks nice. gives it kind of a british feeling. gotta admit the white rims look WAY better than the gold ones, wasnt real fond of that part of it. just didnt fit the rest of the bike. plus they have never been my favorite idea. i was going to say that if it was mine i would change all the tan(as in windscreen support, lower fairing center, and engine cases) to black.... but the more i look at it im not sure if i would. thats a hard one something about the tan makes me think tan leather in a green jaguar or something along those lines. sharp bike! |

The wheels listed on the Buell website are white with a silver stripe around the outside of the rim. They are the same as what come on the XB9R. The Uly wheels are silver, and are a beefier design than what the rest of the XB wheels are. (Message edited by awprior on January 21, 2006) |

GNo rice, Tan and British green are a standard. Again fine job with that bike. BTW go with the white sproket. It would really draw the eye to the wheels and give the bike a very clean look. Of course you would have to ditch the belt guard....... |

thank you for all of your idea's the paint is actually a shade shifting pearl. it is really hard to get a good pic of it. it changes from a dark green to a dark blue depending on where you stand and the white stripe also has the pearl on it. looks really deep when in the sunlight. here are the pics of the neons. sorry they are kind of blurry. couldn't get my cam. to focus very well in the dark. but you can get the just of it.

i have 2 neon tubes and 6 blue leds. i bought them at auto zone and advanced auto parts. they didn't cost very much at all. i have more to put on in the chin spoiler to light up the ground some more. i will get some pics for ya soon. let me tell ya it is a real pain in the ars to keep those thing hidden on these bikes. but that is also part of the fun.
