Greetings: I am considering the purchase of a new XB12Ss. I recently took it for a test drive and was impressed however I have some questions I hope some of the experienced owners can answer. It seems like there are few accessories for this bike in the Buell catalogue any forth coming. I am considering a cross country on this bike and wonder if there are bags for this bike? 2. How is comfort for longer rides? 3. How has reliability been? 4. What about service and ability to work on the bike? Thanks

The following tank bag is available: Tank Bag 91213-04YA Fits all '03-later XB models $109.95 I believe that DaveS at Appleton HD has them. I have an XB12S, and I have that and the removable saddle bags, and the trunk bag. With all of them, you can pack for a week. I'm not sure why the bags wouldn't fit an Ss-they are fairly adjustable. I also have a tail bag for when going to work, that should work.

I rode my XB12Ss on a 100 mile ride one warm day last week and I felt fine. The stock Gel seat is longer, very comfortable and the more upright riding position probably is less stressful on the body. However, that said it would depend on how many miles, quality of the roads, and the age on Your Body. I would think in time more accessories will be available, We just have to patient. Buell Harley-Davidson Dealers are located all over the Country. They even give You a road atlas with Your purchase of a new Buell that shows each Buell Dealership and its location. Go for it and enjoy.

I see from your profile you are located in New Orleans. I hope this is a good sign that life is finally getting back to normal and others such as yourself can get back to riding.

I've made a few 200~250 mile rides and the seat is "no problem". The SS has a very comfortable seat compared to some of the other Buells. I'm sure I will be riding further when I have some extra time. The XB12Ss is an awesome ride!

I have ridden about 350 miles straight and I had no problems. I agree that the new gel seat is so much better, I had a 2004 XB12 and the seat was horrible. You should be good, good luck!
