Isham,
is that the double bubble or sport touring windscreen? Also did you wrap them headers on the bike or drop the engine down? Thanks

no offense, but header wrap traps moisture & will maybe not rust yer pipes, but will doubtless make them workhardened & therefore liable to crack .. no?!

i think for what u r doing .. header paint or ceramic coating is a way better look.

sorry if it offends .. rest of bike is mint .. i have that header wrap on my bobber .. i think buell xb is just too futuristic for that treatment.

gotta try tho?! : )

Vonsliek, No offense taken, you've got your opinion. I don't see it rusting because it's garaged since i've owned it the bike has seen rain twice. I think the wrap makes the bike look more rugged plus it keeps my straight legs from burning. Already burnt one pair of jeans on them.

Hogs, the screen is the double bubble. I wrapped the headers myself don't know why the black stuff is coming off. I might paint it... I didn't drop the bike but the previous owner did there was a scratch on the frame which is hidden by the frame pucks. Also the swing arm was scratched when i got it. I put the rear sliders on just in case. It's not perfect by any means but I love it the way it is.

I've got an opinion. The buell is half cutting edge / half legend. Blend of the past and future. HarleyDavidson old-school and the future cutting edge designs.

Those wrapped headers scream that hooligan harley pedigree. Don't change a thing Isham.

No one here would recommend you file down your engine's heat fins would they?
For the sake of being futuristic?

The XB12 was released on July 2003. Even though it's an 04 model.

My XB9SX was bought on Nov. 2004. It's an 05 model. Weird, eh?

I like the silver rims.(better than the gold) but it looks like neon, or reflective tape, which is a cool look! I dig 'em!

I'm guessing the rim stripes are the reflective ones from tapeworks.com?

Looks good.

He bought the bike already modified.
My guess is the original owner bought one of the big bore kits.
Since he's from Florida my guess would be it came from Cycle Rama

Yeah its the orange reflective tape. I decided to go with a color to match the lettering on the air box cover and its a pretty close match. I'm going to see how well ppl can see me at night.

Some guy probably raced this bike. He put a few dollars into it.

What pistons? Hell if I know. I just like riding the damn thing don't care about the specs.

I'm going to update my profile. I don't think I want people to know what kind of engine I have in there... I'm getting annoyed by the confusion coupled with the calling me a lier. I just don't care anymore. It's not you guys it's everyone else.

I'm glad you all like it. This bike IS my dream bike!

Boise, after reading your personal quote and the posts you left No Rice and Isham, it is a pretty good assumption that you know yourself very well.

Isham, It's not a screw up, just something that needs a little more work. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/32777/99093.html
trenchtractor's bike looks awesome with the wrap and he painted it on the bike.

The wrap does not need anything but paint. I wrapped it really well and no metal is exposed. For some reason the some of the paint or what ever they use to make the white wrap black has come off. I'm thinking of painting it sometime.

Thanks for the info Buellballs. I'll ignore what boise said...

I spoke with the owner of a chopper shop in Orlando because I was going to wrap the pipes on my Mutant. He said that it is O.K. to wrap your exhaust as long as you stay ~12 inches away from the motor. Vonsliek stated the reason earlier, the wrap will trap moisture and in time will damage your pipes.

Skull, I don't know where he got his information.
Mine have been wrapped for over 10,000 miles, I only took it off because of maintenance. The pipes look the same as they did before I wrapped them, and believe me, I am a bad weather biker, my bike has seen every kind of rain there is, no problems at all.

skull's info may be correct on painted or chrome steel pipes. Stain resistant(stainless)steel is
a different animal. I wrapped mine too, but I did it to prevent pipe burns on my fairing.

I'm sure it has allot to do with the type of metal it is. Just trying to relay the information he gave me. I would be curious as to how many miles he put on his before he had to replace them - I will ask him next time I see him and let you guys know.

Isham...
A little advice for painting your wraps:
use aluminum foil to cover what you do not wish to spray.
It is easy to work with and it stays in place.

How much can you really know about yourself if you've never been in a fight? Boise?

Slagging off on other peoples bikes for being different just isn't cool, especially when in this company your own bike is about as individual as a honda. Show some imagination, do something different... You won't, you're scared.

Being truly different takes guts. You're one of those guys who bought a Buell to be different, but never really understood what it really means.
