Alright, now that I got your attention... I need to replace my metal bulb holders. It seems that the little springs that hold the bulbs in are both broken. I do not know how to go about doing this. I don't normally do the repairs myself, but I feel that it would be a waste of time and money to bring my 03 xb9r to the dealership (that is a 45 minute drive) and have them replace them. I was wondering if anyone here could actually tell me how to do this, and if I could get part numbers, so I can order them from Dave. I am not new here, nor am I new to my bike, I have owned it for 2+ years... I just aint that mechanical. B4 anyone tells me to get the service manual, I already got it... but I just don't trust myself 100% to go jumping into this without as much info as possible. Thanks for any and all help. |

Daves may be able to help you with your question. It might be that you need to get the headlight unit itself. I got one from him. If I remember correctly, it was only about $35 for the whole unit If you have the SM to guide you, it is pretty straight forward as to getting to the headlight assembly. Always amazes me how simple this bike is |

well, I was thinking about doing that... but a mechanic friend of mine said that I should just replace the part. Due to the fact that the part is made of spring steel... and a paper clip isn't. So, in theroy... when the bulb gets warm... and they do!! the paper clip may loosen up. So I think I want to do it the right way... But thanks. |

Jessicasdad-me too, but been there for 2 years! Paperclip, pair needlenose pliers= new spring If that thing is getting too hot, I think I would have had a problem by now! But I understand wanting to do it right, I'm just a cheap azz! when it comes to little things like that. I hate to wait 3-4 days to get a part when there are such good roads calling my name!
