Has anyone mounted a frame slider or other such bracketry to use for alternate leg positions on long rides? I thought about building something small to bolt to the front motor mounts. The 350 mile days are killing me and I intend to go on extended patrols this coming riding season with the cool soft luggage and Select seat I bought. Any ideas guys?

i use the passenger pegs as an alternate on longish rides. your side bags may interfere.

I've never liked the sensation, weather real or perceived, of lack of control when putting my feet in other positions
(when it was still possible on both sides) away from the controls for an extended period. Even droning on the super-slab
"cagers happen". Sudden changes can be needed any time. The delay trying get feet back into a control position can be
the difference between life and death. even if just because a bee flies up your sleeve just as the bozo next to you drops
his grande latte in his lap.

I don't like riding for more than a few seconds (shaking the kinks out) without both hands on the bars either.

I guess I just don't get it.

I knew I would get some ya-hoo's and the safety police and I was setting myself up, gotta love the Bad Web Crew. My normal trick right now is to just stand up for a while like on a dirt bike. This works pretty well but I was hoping that someone had already solved the long distance highway peg issue with a cool extended frame slider or something. As for the patrol thing, my riding partner refers to my bike as "The P38" and I refer to his Triumph as "The Spitfire". I went with that motif and put a Nose art lady on the tank and Japanese kill flags on the side for each of the rice rockets I put in the rear view mirrors. I stopped at five as to not cover up the frame. Thanks for the feedback guys.

Ya gotta love the safety weenies. Long ride comfort is tough on the XB. There's really no where else to put your feet, other than the rear pegs which, I dunno about the rest of you guys, but my "boys" don't like that position at all! I'd think you would want the handle bars further back for Hwy pegs and then you're entering the realm of dorky looking. Try stopping more often, or better yet, get some magnesium strap on shoes and just drag your feet. Helps with tailgaters too!

Raymondt, Rubberdown use to have a xb12s, and had done some temp pegs using the exhaust mounts. Lost my pictures in a 'puter crash. He may still have some. They were enough to stretch the legs a bit, but still not get in the way.

OH s hit please whatever you do dont look like one of those harley guys with the huge ape-hangers and the foot pegs that stick way out to the point where their arms are high up in the air and their feet are spread wide apart. I laugh when I see that because if your riding behind one you bearly see theyre rinding on a bike so they look like a bug splattered on a winshield!
Then again I do beleive this is a wonderful opportunity for some photo shop to see what you would look like.

sorry raymondt, I didn't intend my comment to be a flame. I understand that people used to riding a more cruiser type of bike have a different idea of what is comfortable. I have heard in exhaustive detail about how uncomfortable my bike must be.

I stated my view, and sort of tongue in cheek said I didn't get it.

I proudly claim the title of safety weenie. My views saved my life a little over 2 years ago when a cage turned out of a driveway and hit me head-on.

I'd LOVE to see pics of your paint!

sorry if there was a misunderstanding.

No hard feelings to any of you!!The helmet is an AGV Dragon it looks cool in camo. I can not seem to get the pictures I take with my phone to fit, I tried the other day when posting my old race muffler to sell, I will try again. No ape hangers, you guys will have to find another Bad Webber farther out there than me for that one. I am just looking for a spot to toss the feet up other than the handlebars on a long ride.

I went the P-40 Warhawk route. There are a few KBC helmets that have the WWII Plane theme the Street ware - Force S Airborne & Urban.
