So I picked up this little Do-Hicky to lessen the force needed to engage the clutch. Sooooo after having this part for a couple of months I decided to break out the directions to see what I need to do and the first one states 1- Lift up bike (assembly stand) and take care of unharmfully requirements WTF is unharmfully requirements??? Is that a German way of saying drain the transmission fluid? |

typical translation problems. Like trying to read instructions for a surround setup that was originally in japanese. without the subtle nuances of the original language it comes across as gibberish |

Here is what the instructions should be like in proper English Installation Instructions: XLH & Buell Models 1994 up. Warning! Installation should be carried out by an experienced mechanic. We will not be liable for unprofessional installation. 1. Make sure the bike is secured safely on an appropriate stand. 2. Loosen clutch cable adjuster jam nut and slacken clutch cable. 3. Remove clutch cover (There is no need to remove the primary cover) using appropriate keys, and remove jam nut and spring. Loosen adjusting screw so the OEM clutch adjusting screw can be separated from the clutch release mechanism. 4. Disconnect clutch cable from inner ramp of clutch release mechanism and remove ramp assembly. 5. Assemble the Muller Power Clutch mechanism using the new bearings and circlip provided. The locating tab of the outer ramp should be assembled so that it is directly opposite the actuating arm of the inner ramp. 6. Connect the Muller inner ramp to clutch cable and mount in clutch cover. 7. Insert clutch adjusting screw with special nut for clutch by turning it anti-clockwise. Perform basic clutch adjustment in accordance with OEM manual. 8. Unscrew adjusting screw anti-clockwise until you feel the screw seat on the clutch pushrod. Pull clutch lever to its maximum 3 or 4 times to seat the clutch release mechanism. Then loosen the adjuster screw (clockwise) for just 1/8 turn (not like the OEM ¼ turn). Important – The clutch release mechanism must have free play. 9. Mount clutch nut with spring and remount clutch cover. 10. Adjust clutch cable play using cable adjuster until free play at the lever is about 2-3mm. Tighten locknut! 11. Check function and test ride! |

That was simple. I am amazed at the difference in the pull of the lever. I dont know if it is exactly a 40% reduction, but I do know it was worth every penny. |

I had a similar unit installed during my 5000 mile service, What a huge difference. It is now about the same as the hydraulic was on my V-Max. Mine was from a different manufacturer though. I asked for a Muller and the dealer had this one in stock and recommended it so I said what the hell plus it was only a $109.95 rather than the $160.00 for the Muller. The unit is made by MRC Works great so far I have about 400 miles on it and I love it. |

I broke a clutch cable on my 03 9r at about 15,000 miles and replaced it with what the tech at Glandale Buell said was an updated design. The clutch pull ws reduced by at least 30 to 40 percent. Total cost 24.95! |
