After starting the job and then realizing I didn't have a Buell sprocket/pulley holder tool I started thinking about what I could make without having to weld anything.

This is what I came up with, using a grade 8 bolt, two nuts and one bent piece of metal. The metal was too soft on two occassions, but it worked just enough for me to finish the job to spec.

That is a great idea, i am wanting mine off to paint because it rusty.I have the socket, but i was curious how much force do you need to remove it. Also is it a left hand thread.

I went to Harbor freight and got their largest socket set. I'm thinking it's the 1" and I used the breaker bar in there with another 24" extension bar onto that to get enough leverage to break it free.

It is LEFT hand threaded. The manual says to use Loctite RED.

It was a bear to remove with all the tools I had.

You can see the tools I used on the ground in these photos: The red bar was the extension piece I used.http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/32777/167065.html?1136323931
