Has anyone bought the select seat. How is it. If it is better than the standard seat. Why isn't. it the standard seat? |

I recently purchased the select seat. It has gel in it, and seems wider. I really enjoy the difference and can rid a tank full before having to stop. The seat pan looks like the exact same seat pan on the stock seat. Your butt will thank you, and your back! |

"Has anyone bought the select seat." Yes. "How is it." Great, I love mine. It's comfortable and looks good to boot. "Why isn't. it the standard seat?" If Buell put every up grade that was available on their bikes, they would price themselves out of a large portion of the motorcycle sales market. The price of their motorcycles would be too high for many of us. Also, it is a part of their marketing plan. The sale of accessories is a way to retain and develop customers and make money. Most peopled who own motorcycles and 99.9% of the motorcycle owners I know have what I would call "up graded their ride." Buell understands this and they work to get a piece of this huge market. |

There's a thread in the knowledge vault where someone said the Streetfighter & Select seats have pretty much the same shape & profile (excluding the "V" cut out in the Select of course) but the real difference was in the foam they use for the Select. I have a Select seat on my 12 & I can't imagine not having it now. It is by far one of the best changes I've made to the bike. |

Thanks all, I have the streetfighter seat now, It's comfortable. The shape is good but if the select is the same shape but a more comfortable foam, I must consider it. |

Dave would the select offer any increase in comfort compared to the City-X seat? I ride a City-X and I like the standard seat better for seating position over the City-X seat but not at the expense of comfort. So is the select going to offer what I desire? Thanks, Bart |

Bart, For me, the select seat over the stock City-X was like night and day better! It is the most comfortable bike for riding that I now have, especially for my lower back. Big thanks to Daves for suggesting it! |

How does the Blue version of the Select seat look compared to the see through Blue of the CityX Airbox? |

The blue will not match. The blue is the same as the opaque blue of the '05 XB12s "thrust blue". I ordered the select seat and they gave me the blue one by mistake. In my opinion, it looked funny, even on the blue bike (though the color did match). I would go with the black, which looks good with anything. |

Does anyone have a picture of the orange Select seat on a black 12s? I don't know how it'd look with the gold wheels and airbox letters. Thanks! |

I put 175 miles on my xb12s with a new select seat i just got from Daves, I could not believe the difference. On the stock seat I would be hurting after 100 miles, with the select 175 miles and never felt any pain. Probely the best upgrade I have done to my bike . |

How is the select seat for passenger comfort? My wife slides right into the back of me everytime we come to a stop light with my stock City X seat. I like the height of my City X seat, but the flatness of it causes us to have to readjust at every light. Thanks for any input. |

I switched to the select from the low seat of the Scg. compared to the low, the select has more padding (the low has almost none) for the passenger. The passenger area is also horizontal instead of sloped toward the rider. But, the CityX seat is the highest, most padded of the S variety bikes, so comparing to the low seat is probably pointless. In short, there is nothing on the select seat to keep the passenger from sliding forward, but it hasn't really been a problem for me. Besides, it's kind of nice to get close sometimes! |

Blackbelt I don't think you'll need it on the SS. It already has a very comfy seat. Ratyson, I sell them to Badwebbers for 179.95 1-866-757-1651 ask for Dave in the sales dept |

Sounds like the select seat is great, I'm very interested. My question is, does it change the seat height at all? |

I'm still a little mixed up on seats. I see here about the comfort progression, and that's great info: > Stock > Streetfighter > Select Can someone clear up the confusion as to seat height differences in the three options? also, the current Skyline offering is the same as CityX seat, correct? in the accessories book, it says Skyline is stock on S & SX models from '04 to current. |
