please don't let this place turn into a popularity contest. i have no use for a rating. when i need info or have a question i ask. and just because i dont have 2 million posts doesn't mean im more or less competent than anybody else out there. the real enthusiasts of this site know who to ask for help and know who is credible. reputations will come on there own. Blake i love the site but.... Ratings.....We dont need no stinking ratings. | ||

Yea, I'm on a few other sites that have had ratings...I'm on the fence about it. The established rating sytems don't seem to amount to much by way of influence. It doesn't really matter to me. The only thing I've seen (not here) is rants and needless threads started by folks that get a bad rating from a newbie that was pizzed about something. This is a fairly small forum base (members #'s) so maybe it'll fair better. Who knows. Like I said, it doesn't matter to me. On here, folks seem to be pretty good about giving advice and aid only when they KNOW the answer. | ||

Seriously, I only turned that feature on to facilitate a little series of polls I'm conducting on the Quick board, trying to find out how well the current formatting, features, and utilities of the board are working for folks. Unfortunately I cannot turn that feature on for just one thread. It is either on for the whole board or none of it. It appears to be temporary, and you CAN vote for yourself, which makes it really fair, I'm always a 5 star !! LOL (Message edited by cj_xb on December 08, 2005) |
