Well the 'busa is mean for sure, and I know for a fact(having some friends blow by me like I wasn't moving while I was at 140+) that the straight line capacity is enormous. But I think the those that have acquired the taste for torque and cornering will always be attracted to a V twin. I grew up on 2 stroke RD's and TZ's. Light, fast, could turn and would buck you off like a wild horse if you didn't watch yourself ALL the time. The first Buell I rode brought be back to those mean little 2 strokes for a minute, but so much more stable and smooth. I don't know about you all, but all I want for Christmas is gear driven cams and a six speed transmission. That would make my Buell (in my narrow tunnel vision view) perfect to me. Good luck if you buy one, but I think my Springer Softail Classic might corner as well as that 'Busa. ( I say this in complete jest) |

Wammy, $3500, huh? Might be a salvage title or something. Cool thing about the Busa is that it has remained relatively unchanged since it's inception in '99. I gotta sell the CityX before I can start looking seriously though. |

Touring on a busa??? That would be my LAST choice of a touring bike... maybe I'm just crazy? |

Actually, Snow, I've heard from multiple different folks that the 'busa is an *excellent* distance bike. Very comfortable. -Geof |

Busas are extremely comfortable. My uncle has a turbocharged one that I recently got to ride. After getting a little seat time, I took it a bit beyond 200 mph on the gps. A life changing experience to say the least. Wheelies at 150+ mph are something of serenity. |

" I don't want to get rid of the Buell just want to add to the stable!!!" That 's my plan....I am going to pick up a used Gixxer1K (03) or Gixxer750 (04-05) and keep that as my high-speed-go-fast-weapon-that-can-turn-on-a-dime. It will certainly be the "second" bike to my Buell. Day to day, I don't think anything will take the place of my 12R - it's just too much fun!! Wammy, for around the price of a new Busa, you could get a used one AND a used Buell. That way you would have the best of both worlds!! (Message edited by fl_billy on December 09, 2005) |

Billy, I got the XBR, I'm leaning towards "adding to the stable" as they say. |

The Busa would be a very comfy touring bike. |

Wheelies gone well at triple digits are fun. Wheelies gone bad at triple digits are life threatening. |

I prefer my wheelies at sub sonic speeds. S1Eric |
