I went back and forth with getting a translucent orange airbox cover and flyscreen, but I wanted something different ( imagine that, from a buell rider ) and I finally said "screw it" and I am going for it. Wish me luck... |

Laminar said they would be happy to build one, but would need access to a motorcycle for a couple days to spec the shield. They even offered to give a free shield to the person who let them borrow their motorcycle. If you happen to be interested, Laminar is in Santa Anna, CA (unfortunately I am in Cleveland, OH).
someone please take an S over there for a day...its SoCal so the weather should be okay.....I think those screens would be awesome. if they need some opinions from the public, we have a perfect forum here! |

Hey Superbee24(LAB RAT!), yes, please take assembly snapshots! I too wish Buell made translucid kick-ash/valencia-orange air/oil/engine scoops, belt guards, uly fairing and xb chin fairings as well. hope everything bolts right on for ya! cheers.  |

200+ bucks for a dang windscreen is not possible. If the Laminar Lip folks can find a donor I'll go with them. Thanks for all the help. |

I spoke to the folks at Laminar a few months ago. They wanted to build this screen and just needed access to a Lightning/CityX for a few days.
I posted a request on Badweb for someone in SoCal who would let them use their bike to spec the shield. A few people responded, but no one followed through.
If you can get your bike to SoCal, or know someone who can. PM me.
Personally, I wish Buell would make a windscreen for the Lightning/CityX similar to the Uly screen. I think it would be the best selling accessory since Frame Pucks. |

Slept on it, turned into a big chicken overnight and looks like I will just be putting the translucent orange stuff on my bike. I will have two sets of skins orange and blue so 2 bikes for the price of 1.
Sorry to disappoint everyone but I just could not pull the trigger with the unknowns in the conversion. Some else will have to take the lead on this. |

I went down to Laminar Lip today... They designed an XB Lightning Speed Shield while I waited. Nice guys.
