I haven't figured a way to post my pics. IMG command doesn't seem to work. http://www.eliteops.com/misc/XB%20002.jpg http://www.eliteops.com/misc/XB%20003.jpg http://www.eliteops.com/misc/XB%20004.jpg http://www.eliteops.com/misc/XB%20005.jpg http://www.eliteops.com/misc/XB%20006.jpg http://www.eliteops.com/misc/XB%20007.jpg Previous owner laid it down. Darkhorse sliders on the rear. I gotta get some for the front soon. (Message edited by isham on December 03, 2005) |

How do you like the Maxxis tires? Do they stick well in the corners? Nice looking, can never go wrong with all black. |

Maxxis tires are cheap for a reason. They have grip for about a thousand miles if you're lucky. I guess they'd make an OK street tire, as long as you're not an aggressive rider, and stay out of the twisties. IMHO of course. |

Ohh, Ok, because he has an airbox cover from a 12R and his profile lists the bike as a 12R too. My bad...... |

It's an 03 R with a 1200 engine in it, has power commander and all. I just got frame pucks for it today. I love the pucks; they covered up the rash on the frame very nicely. Now she looks new at least to me. The tires aren't bad when it's dry. I don't like the feel of them wet though. I gotta switch the tires out some time soon. How did you post embed those images? I was gonna say that the head pipes looked like 12 pipes too (bigger than 9 headers). Looking good! |

has it been laid down on both sides? If "they" put a 1200 motor in it, I wonder why it still has the 2003 belt drive... and why it has black covers on the motor. Do you mean that it's been rebuilt with new pistons and everything so it has a deeper stroke? I'm a bit confused by what I see. (Message edited by pwnzor on December 05, 2005) |

Isham, are you 100% sure you that's a 1203cc engine? Because from the outside, it looks exactly like a 984cc. If it truly is, someone either punched it out to a 1200, or spent a great deal of time and money making their 1203 look like a 984. I only hope you didn't buy a 984 thinking you bought a 1203. <I'm not trying to start any trouble or pi$$ you off.> |

If it's a 2003 then there is no question it started life as a 984. But now I look at it again and the header looks bigger than what comes on the 9R. But that is a lot easier to change out than the whole motor. |

Aren't 12 cases magnesium colored? and 12 frames black? (Message edited by buelltroll on December 05, 2005) |

Yes it originally was a 984 and was punched to 1200. |

ahhh finally we get to the bottom of this. Well all other things aside, its a great looking bike. Next question. Is it painted, or is that new plastic? |

I'm not sure, but it looks like you may need to have your bearings replaced with the updated orange ones. Congrats on your new purchase! |
