If anyone has a emailable or uploadable schematic of the '06 Cityx it would be great (email is horvathh@sbcglobal.net). Trying to rework the headlamp switches so as to have both lamps on when hi beam switch is on AND have one of the lamps cutout when the hi beam flasher is pressed. Even better yet, if one of you has a solution, I am ALL ears.....thanks in advance. |

I just did that modification today. Open up you turn signal assembly and solder the blue wire to the yellow on the switch with a piece of 18 gauge wire. Its going to be short, about 1/4 in. One light on low, dual on high. Trigger will only work if your in low. I wouldn't know how to make it cut out in high. |

IIRC an earlier anonymous post on this board said the headlight housing is not designed to withstand the heat generated by having both headlights run at once. YMMV |

I wonder how many people have done this mod and suffered any negative results after time(i.e. melted housing.) Using standard 55watt bulbs (like stockers). People? |

Could you post the rest of the schematic? I need to see where the feeds for those begin and end, not just the pinout of the connector. Thanks! What Rhost did, as he mentioned, will get you both lights on at once when the high beams are on, but no cut-out. >.< |

you dont need to solder anything just take off the fly screen, find the left switch harness, find the blue and the yellow wire, cut them, strip the wire ends, get a butt connector, put two wires in one end and two wires in the other end, crimp and heat shrink, and put the rest back together. yeah you have to cut some wires but this way is so much easier. |

You can simply put the rocker switch in between the two setting and you have both lights, no mods needed. I ride like this and it will stay until you put the switch in the high beam only or low beam only setting. |

I think read somewhere on the board the "right" method of doing this is to wire up the lowbeam to accesory fuse so that it's on if the engine is on. Then all the bar switch does is turn on/off the high beam. |

FresnoBuell, I re-wired my head light harness to provide power to both head lamps in the high position only. Although this won't allow me to drop an low beam when "flashing the trigger" it will still "flash properly when in the low position. The way I did it is extremely simple. No need to mess with the switch on the bars. Or carry another lead and circuit forward from the fuse panel. As far as heat goes I have had no problems. PM me if interested. |

I've had soldered wires and run both headlights all the time since about 2000 mi. I've got 10K now with no light melting. YMMV |
