Seeking suggestions on how to increase the overall performance of my 9 engine without increasing the noise. I have a Special-OPS pipe which works and sounds great but is just too loud for my needs. I don't mind a little intake sound but want a stealthy hi-po exhaust or motor mods with stock exhaust. Thanks.

I tried the drummer, and the race pipe, and took them both off, Drummer was too loud for my taste , and the race pipe was loud and lost mid range torque..Currently running a techlusion with a cut airbox, just the 12 funnel on a kn filter....It runs quiet at cruise but great intake bark on acceleration............

I like this thread, quiet power is what I've been looking for since I bought my 9.

I like jap's aftermarket hi-performance exhaust "noise".
not a db more than that.

I couldn't find any in 2,5 years.

the Ti-Force is said to be the quietest exhaust available. the only negative report i have so far is that it is TOO quiet..... and it costs a bunch.nice looking pipe though.

Wow, love it! I too am a big fan of quiet power. This Ti-Force system looks like an attempt at a tangentially siamesed exhaust system. I've been thinking about designing one for my friends Magna. The stock system has plain ol' crossovers. Once I get my CityX, I was going to look into building one for that as well. I've read in other threads that the header ports are the same on a 9 or 12, so this system might work on a 9??? Any estimate on cost?

The crossover is used on a nine, that section is replaced without crossover for a twelve, around $1200.
This information could be totally wrong, I've had "one of those days"

"too quiet"....mmh, not sure of it.

is it as quiet as stock muffler?

once again, there are no quiet aftermarket mufflers for buell so far.

If you are looking for 'quiet power' then try looking at some of the European 'CE' marked pipes. The noise nazis in Euroland are much stricter than in the US, and for exhausts to be road legal they must have this mark on them, which signifies that the exhaust is less than 98db.
Most of these have removeable baffles for 'off road' use, so you can increase the volume/power if you wish.
The best of these approved cans is the Hot Performance Big Oval. These are extremely well made in stainless steel and give good power characteristics.

If you want something different there is also the HP 'Reverso' Replica, which has the exit pipe at the front! This is also CE marked and has chin spoiler brackets etc attached.

Mike,

I think Kevin Drum makes a "quiet" Drummer; might be worth giving him a call.

I know that brand of mufflers, I live in italy..
I know they have those dbkillers, but placing them means you say goodbye to their performance curves.
Actually a friend of mine that has one in his xb9 told me that aven though it is marked CE approved and even with the dbkiller installed it sounds
"not so legal".
So since my problem is getting the cops attention...i think that a "CE" mark on my muffler doesn't solve the issue.

thanks anyway for the suggestion, but once again...there are not buell aftermarket mufflers that are good, open and quiet
at the same time.

Has anyone actually seen/heard/felt the Ti-Force system? If you are truly looking for quiet power, the crossover, or even better, tangentially siamesed, type exhaust systems are probably your best bet. They allow gas pulses and noise to bleed over to both sides of the exhaust while the other header pipe has a null, thereby maximizing flow and noise cancellation. I have that style system on my classic Mustang, and it is awesome. Not sure how well the theory translates to a 45deg engine. If anyone sees a good review, or has personal experience with that Ti-Force or similar, I'd love to read it. Their website shows the price at around $1300 stainless steel, or $1600 titanium, MSRP.

Thanks!

Gee, I thought FullPower was kidding around. Sorry FP. That's a darn $$$ system. Any reviews out there?
