I just completed Jason Pridmore's 2 day riding school. It was held in Pahrump, NV at the Spring Mtn. Motorsport track. I was the only Buell out there(XB12R). It was kinda nice that way. I highly recommend it. You learn an enormous amount about your bike and what it and yourself are capable of. There were at least 15 instructors, including Pridmore, out riding on the track following you and making you follow them. Then you get one on one tips and suggestions after each session. My XB did great, stuck like glue around the turns. I was running Z208's and they were great. The best part was that I was able to ride 2-up with Pridmore for 2 laps. The level he rides at is unbelievable. Talk about smooth, I never felt him shift once. I'll be signing up for the next school in Feb 2006! I'm already looking for track days too. |

Glad you liked it. I have attended CLASS at Road America 7 years (2 day schools each) and I am encouraging others to go this year so keep posting about your experience. I also rode 2 up with Reg, words can't describe it. Reg runs a great school, lots of riding time. How did you run with other bikes since you were the only Buell, I was the only XB in 2002 and opened a few eyes in the corner sections. |

Coolice, I agree that everyone should try and attend a school. You can never learn and practice enough. I ran well in all the turns with the other bikes and even pretty well in the straight away since the straight is pretty short compared to other tracks. BUT, I did get passed. It seems that on my XB you have to really concentrate on using your body properly to steer in the corners. Being smooth and relaxed was the challenge. Smoother equals faster. One thing that was cool was how many riders looked at my bike and asked questions about it. Like what kind of exhaust you runnin? Is the oil tank really in the swingarm? One guy thought the entire exhaust was custom because it didn't come out the side of the bike. And these guys asking were the advanced riders. I guess not everyone is familiar with the Buells. |
