So, I searched quite a bit and I couldn't find a dyno of a stock XB9SX and an XB9SX with the race kit (exhaust, race ECM, and filter). I only found the attached image. Does anyone have a dyno plot of the two configurations? It seems unanimous that the Race Kit on the 9 loses low end and gains on the top end - but that's what is was designed for. Is the loss of low end from the exhaust (buy a Drummer), from the ECM (stick with the stock ECM), or a combination of both?

Does anyone have a dyno plot of the two configurations? You just posted one. That is for an XB9. It seems unanimous that the Race Kit on the 9 loses low end and gains on the top end - but that's what is was designed for. Is the loss of low end from the exhaust (buy a Drummer), from the ECM (stick with the stock ECM), or a combination of both? Not sure what you're asking. I have the full Buell Race Kit and am very happy with it. The dip at 4500rpm is gone if you cut the air box. Maybe this will help? Keep in mind the F.A.S.T. system works very well, also note that if you cut your air box so that all you have left is the top for the filter, you have a real close alternative, I call it the P.M.FAST (Poor Man's F.A.S.T.) If you can afford it I highly recommend the F.A.S.T. |

Thanks Glitch - my question was based on many comments about *losing* the low end with the race kit (but I could be wrong). The dyno seems contradictory to the reviews (except at 4500rpm according to this dyno) and looks like it generally raises the power levels. Will the XB12 airbox on the 06 XB9SX be the same as cutting the airbox? |

I'd add a clarification that the above chart is for the original airbox lid configuration (flat top, no cone above velocity stack. Pretty sure the stock dyno numbers improved some with the new style airbox lid. |

Blake's right, I got the XB12 air box lid so long ago I had forgotten about it. Back then it was the best bang for the buck out there, really made a difference you can feel. |

Good point - that sales chart was for an '03 9. |

Well i have a xb9r with the Buell race kit and no other mods. My hp and tq follow the same exact path starting from down low to upper rpm. results: 74rwhp/73rwtq. I assumed the tq line would start up at a higher tq number similar to what my corvette dyno chart looks like with a flat torq curve/line but it does not. Not sure if that is normally what is expected with the kit. I say that because I have seen stock dyno charts and the tq line starts much higher at low rpm than mine does. Not sure what's up? |

I do not see any low end power loss |
