Ok guys, its winter, time to play with the 9S a little to get her a more power. So on that note I open it up to you guys, what am I going to get the most bang for my buck on. e.g. Most power/least cost | ||

Well, horsepower costs money. Most of the time you can't just buy one thing without buying another to work together. The race kit or drummer and k&n, race ECM or something to alter the fuel injection. Other words plan on spending at least $500.00 plus for a little gain. | ||

First - I would move down south where we ride year round and thus no need for winterizing and winter projects Second - If you do not already have them, Good (leather/textile)riding gear (jacket, pants, gloves, boots, etc...) Third - Service and Parts Manual if you do not already have them. Got mine from daves. Worth it's weight in gold PS - I think the yellow XB9S is a great looking bike! | ||

I think I remember a post from him a while back. if I am not mistaken he had decided he preferred the "R" over the "S". He was looking to trade his "S" for and "R", or even just the pieces. I guess he was even looking to sell the "S' so he could get an "R". Personally, when I buy used I prefer the engine to be stock. Seen one to many bikes where the previous owner made the bike worse not better. Also, you never really get your money back with upgrades when you sell. If he is wanting to sell it seems like it might be best to leave as stock, get what you can. Then take the money you would have spent on modifications to use for the bike you want. But that is just my opinion To each his own.... On the other hand, perhaps he has decided he prefers the "S" after all and now wants to make some engine mods.... | ||

yes the bike is for sale, but Im not getting many hits on it, so i figure I might as well go ahead and spend some cash on it so if i dont end up selling it, ill have a ride with a bit more power for spring time. Thats all. | ||

Wish you the best with selling it. It is a great looking and handling bike. Are you still considering the "R" model? Do you have a lot of twisties where you live? Do you get a chance to ride them much? These bikes just absolute rock in the corners. They handle different from in-line4s, and it has taken me a little time to adjust, and really begin to experience what the bike is capable of. I also have an R1 Good luck with your modifications. There is a lot of great info on this board to help you get the most for your money. Might want to check the KV. Make sure to get all the pieces and procedures that go into this project for the best results |
