Hi guys.

WEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!

I got her late afternoon Friday (11/4). A 40 mile ride home. When my wife saw her she had to go for a ride so we put another 30 or so miles on two up. Very neutral and very comfortable both solo and with passenger.

Saturday only had time for about an hour.

Sunday rode her to work (32 miles) on the highway. Not much traffic and good (for November) weather.

Took the long (very long) way home today. 228.5 miles. If I wasn't married she would be wearing a ring! I love it!

Rain in the AM so no ride. Boo Hoo!

Poplifedc how rude of me, was just going back through the thread and realised I had missed you.

Guess that's why you should never try to answer everyone, then again I am an eternal optimist and try to please all the people all the time. Hee! Hee! Thanks for dropping by and saying hello.

Black_sunshine and a big hi ye all to you!! Take a look at the pic trust me Bindy Buell looks much better without a Bikini Top (Chin Fairing) then I do! Hee! Hee!

Tim what a man, took your lady on your new Uly. Opto has some answering to do... needed to run it in.... yeah right!

He reckons your description of very neutral is spot on...... back to two upping ... told him he should get into neutral territory if he knows what is good for him!!!

So happy for you, nice to know someone else out there has just got "The Buell Thing", tried to explain my feeling of euphoria to my none Buell friends and they just don't get it!!

Thank the good Lord for BWB's!!!!!

Hi Cyclonemanic, sorry not much to report.

Rained here on and off over the weekend, and Opto in between the rain and sunshine was out testing the new SS Drummer. Needed 8% more fuel Opto said, with a silly grin on his face. Told me I would need a seatbelt when I ride her. YEE HA!!!

Did some house cleaning.. no I lie.... Bike cleaning. Isn't she beautiful!!!!!

Opto put her in the Knowledge Vault under SS Drummer, if you want to see her at another angle.

Cybindy

Take Care, Be Safe and Stay Upright,

Hi Leon,

Was going to book at Top Riders down at Nerang, know Berbie Hatton from my Road Racing days.

However my daughter works for a bike shop(Team Moto, comes in handy) and they will be running a four hour Advanced Road Craft Course. So will be doing that first. Just missed their last one so waiting for next one to come up on their website. Have just got back from two weeks hols in Cairns, things a bit hectic at the moment so haven't confirm dates yet.

Glitch, put some really loud good music on, get really comfortable, take some 240 or 120 sandpaper wet & dry along with a lot of patience and rub slowly going finer with the sandpaper.

When you ache all over and are about to give up, grab some polish turn the music up even louder start singing and polishing to the beat.

As you feel your arms are about to drop off, finish with a clean rag for that final polish.

Grab a beer and sit back, all the pain will go away as you admire your beautiful bike.

thanks bindy, Cairns! half ya luck. Having your daughter work in a bike shop would be good be for spares and accessories.

Where does Bernie do the coarses now that darlington is closed? Team moto are doing theres at Mount Cotton if memory serves me, i did some M&W coarses there.

Good to see all the bikes shops especially in Bris at least, are doing more then just selling bikes, ie offering coarses aswell.

Cheers, we'll all have to organise a ride soon around chrissy time maybe.

Bindy, tell Opto that I debated about putting that part in for along time and decided that the word needed to get out. Well, that's a bunch of crap but it sounds good.

Anyway, sorry Opto! It will be a long time until I'm forgiven.

By the way, Bindy Buell looks good! lots of work on the header.

I was told that the chin spoiler was needed for directing air to the cylinders, is this not the case?

Lookin' good Bindy! That's a ton of work to polish the headers. That's why I went with ceramic coating on my Cyclone. Not quite as shiny, but I didn't have to polish it either.

Sounds good Leon, been awhile since the Morgan & Wacker Buell ride.

I guess Bernie will be doing them at Norwell, did my last ride day with him there. Rang to see when next braking & cornering not till March. Forgot to ask where sorry.

Thanks Glitch, what can I say except what I always do... Girls love bright shiney things.

Hi ya Tim,

Nah, nothing to worry about Opto thought it was quite funny, besides he now says we can go two up. Hee! Hee!

Sorry mate I am new to the Buell Family, maybe someone else can answer that question for you.

Hi Cyclonemanic, missed you. Opto offered to do that but I like to take the accolade for all the work when people comment. Hee! Hee!

Love ya bike, is the seat original? The trim adds a bit of class in my opinion. Might have to look at something like that for Bindy Buell, if Opto will come to the party.... still his bike even though I am allowed to ride it now.

Work Chrissy party this weekend, all expenses paid at the Pine River Golf Resort on the Gold Coast.

Everyone from work will be playing golf on the Saturday, except Opto and me. Taking the bikes and going to do a ride of the Hinterlands, some really good roads so looking forward to it.

I have not ridden Bindy Buell for over a week or since the SS drummer was put on. Suffering withdrawals badly!!!!!!!

Take Care Stay Upright and Be Safe,

Jannelle

Glitch,as you know the heat of the header is reduced with wrapping,(and in my opinion gives a very Road Racing look!!),but sanding her back also reduced the heat.

Hard works all been done now, I only have to polish every 8 weeks or so. I'd like take all the credit, but Opto sanded (do not think he trusted me) I only polished!!

Tim,
I've never heard of any problems running without the chin spoiler, last weekend Bindy was running around 170C (indicated) which is a typical temp for this particular bike, fan running time about the same, there's a lot of XB's running D&D's and Jardines without chin fairings so I think it's definitely OK.

The Uly had it's first service, had to ride it in in the rain, the bike and tyres feel very stable in the wet, nice warm feeling from that. Point is I told Jannelle I wouldn't double her until I put 1500km on the Uly because I was "breaking it in", but I don't think I'll be able to get her off Bindy anyway. I hope you know there's a forum on this site dedicated to Uly's called "The Big, The Bad and the Dirty". Very good choice of yours to buy a Buell, you must have seen some good things in the Buell that you wanted, and it will give you even more than you could initially see I'm sure.

Leon it would be great to get a ride in sometime, Downunder is out of action (again-no fault of his own) and Janelle is never more than half a cigarette away and closing in fast, she's real good at tracking down guys on Buells!

Glitch it's been a while since we posted on the same thread, good to say hello, I guess we've all sorted through a few XB issues now, I still think your post on how to check the timimg of an XB with a multimeter is amongst the best tech posts, you did a real good job on that one, hope that one's in the KV now! Thanks for your moderator efforts too.

Opto, thanks!
It has been a while.
I can't take all the credit for the timing check though. That was true BadWeB team work in action.
I keep telling myself I'm going to sort through the XBoard and move the good stuff over to the KV. But, it been so nice out I can't stop riding, the days are getting shorter though, maybe after it gets cold I'll keep the promise I made to myself.
Thanks for your moderator efforts too.
You're very welcome, and thanks for the recognition.

Well Well Well who's a popular girl then eh.
Go Bindi-my favourite Buell mounted lady
I have not had much time to be on the site recently.
Yes, bike down again! Beware who you let have the keys.
Will be shopping with Daves in a couple of days.
In the meantime the culprit has given me the keys to his Softail Ferguson (one of my least favourite rides)

So I can attend one of my favourite annual rallies.

His cracked vertebrae will be fully healed in a few weeks.

Look forward to having my BeBe back on the road so we Brissy Buellers can cut loose and have some fun, will definitely organise a ride before year end as soon as I am mobile.....

Bindy you deserve the applause for the polished header (and Opto too, don't want to slight his efforts). I'm just a lazy wonk, would much rather ride than polish! HE he!. Thanks for the compliments on My first love. The seat is a Buell factory accessory. I really like the piping too. I'm playing around with seats on My XB9S. So far the City-X seat fits me the best, but I think there has to be something a little more comfy out there.

Hi Cyclone, was dreading having to tell you (a bit of a bruise to the old ego) but I could not handle the new SS Drummer. Darn!!!!

Rode Bindy Buell for the first time with it on and it was just too peaky for me. Asked Opto if he could take it off and put the Fatlet on.

My Opto said he was proud that I told him and just did not try to ride it out. He said he did not stop to think how much difference it would make to me,and when I explain what it felt like he said I was spot on. That at least made me feel a bit better and that I was not imagining it!!!

Thing was I was not relaxed and not enjoying myself because of the extra snappy pull at slow speed, all the ingredients for a bad situation as a rider.

As I said to him I was just coming to grips with the snappy throttle and loving it, but the extra grunt made me question myself and I no longer felt at home. As I told Kevin felt like she had been possessed!!!!

Point is I do not need any extra grunt, I am having fun with what I have and want to get that right, so why try and conquer something harder when I do not have to. I'll leave that for when I want to beat Opto around the corners Hee! Hee! Right now I'll just practice sneaking up on him.

Anyway, not really that depressing when you think about it..... just as I said more a bruise to the old EGO and now I wont have to polish so much!!

How's your seat hunting going? Spoke to Opto he said the low seat was mine and when it was on Bindy Buell so was she, and I could do what I want. Really LOVE that piping! Stay tuned!

Hiya Mark,

Hope you read above, and since you are off road how about bringing some witches hats to the carpark and giving me some pointers on slow speed Buell Throttle so I can handle Bindy with the SS!!! See you when I am looking at you!

Take Care Be safe and Stay Upright,

Bindy

Bindy, by peaky do you mean that it just comes "on" too fast for your taste? Or that it peaks and then "falls off" to fast for your taste? Just wondering.

Hi Glitch, Sorry that's my two stroke talk coming out, you got it, just comes on too fast for my taste. Too much surge, it definitely does not fall off.

I was fine on the open road, but felt intimidated at slow speed. Just felt a completely different bike to my Bindy Buell. Lost my comfort zone!!!

Glitch never thought of it like that, thanks.
I was really depressed about it. Really love the look of the SS on Bindy Buell and actually cried that I cant have it.
So if my story is a good thing, then I feel better. Just really felt sad that I did not have the skills to handle it, hard thing to admit to yourself!

Thanks again, Bindy

Skill comes with seat time, and as much as you/we love our bikes, skill ain't that far off. I've got about 64,373 kilometers on mine...
