My XB is having some issues with the headlights. I have checked grounding, voltage, etc and I just don't think the headlights are as bright as they should be. I was riding with another bike on the way home from work last night and his headlights were at least 50% brighter than the ones on the XB. Any suggestions??
Nick

Grab some SilverStars. There's a 55 Watt direct replacement... Helps a little. Whiter light.

Walmart sells them for nearly half the price of PepBoys/Autozone/Etc.

Note, going to a higher wattage risks melting the housing...

Go buy another high beam housing to replace your low beam, comes with a bulb. About $50 with tax and easy to install. I replaced my low beam housing with a high one and then changed the original high after the new one turned out to be signifigantly brighter. I tried the bulb thing but found the new housing worked better. Two high beams provides a signifigant amount of light.

if it's an "R" model you're talking about the stock housings are crap.
the reflective coating inside degrades from the heat of the bulb over time. I posted here a couple of years ago on my upgrade to Hella 90mm units, what a differance.
