Hello Badwebs, I am trying to get my technoresearch standard software to work. I installed it today, but I have not gotten it to connect yet. I have the serial to usb unit that I purchased from Techno, so I know it is compatible. I opened up the driver for that adapter, and it says it is using com port 4. I have tried all the ports and I cannot get a connection. Com 3 just connects and disconnects off on off on. Com 4 tries but cannot. Also, my toolbar in the program only allows me to use the calculator, port button, connect button, etc. The other buttons are not highlighted. I assume they will become active once I connect. I am sure this is something on my end here, but just thought I would check to see if anyone can help. Thanks. Greg |

Message to self "Turn the engine switch on dipwad!!!" Yes that is right, I did not have the switch on. Target ECU is now connected. The fun begins now. Luckily I pulled the bike in the house tonight. I will start it up and make the walls shake with Buell inspired fear. Greg |

Blake and Badwebs, Ok TPS seems to be reset. I want to reset air/fuel value now. I do not see instructions on that. If anyone knows? Thanks! Greg |

Well I get the TPS zeroed and I am setting it with the idle screw backed out far enough that the throttle grip has a slight stick per the instructions. However, once the TPS is zeroed, it tells you to turn the screw until it reads 5.1-5.6 I do this and then start the bike per instructions. Once I adjust the idle, the TPS value at idle is showing 6.2 or so. Should it show this. I thought at idle it should read between 5.1-5.6? Please anyone that knows help. Thanks. Greg |

Greg, Don't worry so much about that number, it will be slightly different bike to bike. The right number is the one that lets the bike idle at 1050 when fully warmed up. The number they provide is a good number to turn it to when first starting it after resetting the TPS. AL |

Al, Thanks, I guess it is set then. I will test ride it tomorrow. Thanks so much for setting my mind to ease. I find that the software is pretty handy. I really like it. Greg |

Dont forget to let the bike cruise at 3500-4000 so the computer can relearn the new settings. I had a unforgetable experience not letting the computer relearn, and making some SERIOUS altitude changes, and lets just say it was a fun ride!! LOL Good luck and enjoy the software, look forward to using mine as well soon!! Bruce |
