That is a sweet paint job. I like the way Buell is still seen through the flames.

Thanks Stou! I really like those flames! Your bike would look sick with a black frame and those flames. It would make the flames jump out at you even more! i really want to do my triple tree and fork tubes in black also. I think they are a pain to paint though, so it will have to wait. My first order of business is the custom paint, black primary covers, and dipped wheels. If I get all of that done with some time left over I'll do my forks and triple tree too.

You guys should check out his webpage and some of the sickest helmets I've ever seen.
Once I break down n buy me a decent lid I'm gonna send it to him for blue ghost flames.

Odie achieved unique results changing the color of his DuPont Surlyn ionomer resin body parts using an inexpensive RIT dye technique for like $25.
Think he used 4 bottles navy blue + 2 bottles black liquid Rit utilizing Captain Planet guidelines (whatever that is) on his red bike parts.
Experiment with the yellow, if it don't look right, then you can try paint.

Stou - your work is amazing.

For the rest of us mere mortals - did anyone successfully do the dye trick on the hero blue bodywork? I'm wanting to try to darken it up with black... maybe a pattern... I'm thinking if I put car wax on the plastic in a pattern that would affect how the dye took and maybe would create the pattern effect to the final result?

I will have a couple blue body pieces to play with soon, as I unsuccessfully tried some enhancements to the hero blue using some new asphalt to sand portions of it off. I don't recommend that technique at all.
