Two new XB exhausts now available from Italian specialist Hot Performance and available exclusively from us in the UK...

First up, for those who want the absolute ultimate race pipe on their XB12, is the 'Aero Corse Reverso' at a mere US$2250 at todays exchange rates. Developed during the 2005 Italian Supertwins Championship, this unique system Comprises of 48mm stainless header pipes and a titanium silencer featuring the exclusive front exit pipe. This enables the headers to be longer resulting in much improved gas flow. You would need to have some engine tuning to get the most out of these pipes!

For us lesser mortals they also have a street version of the Reverso that utilises the stock headers (or the 45mm Aero headers if you wish). This is all stainless steel and available in either Euro road legal form (with a removeable baffle in the tail pipe) or race (with no baffle in the exit pipe) and costs a bit more reasonable US$860.

Pipe, pipes and more pipes, I wish someone made some different bolt ons for performance.

However those are pretty cool looking.

How about this then?

There is a new product from Dimensione Sport called the 'Rapid bike'. It is an add-on ECM similar to a Power Commander that allows you to install a variety of fuelling and ignition maps or programme your own using a PC. It has been available in the car world for a while and now includes specific bike fitments including the Buell XB12. The module itself can be moved from bike to bike (even of different makes and configurations) so you just have to buy the bike specific wiring loom. Price in Europe for the complete kit is Euro170 (UK£121 US$212) for the wiring loom and Euro380 (UK£272 US$475) for the module itself. The complete kit lists at Euro550 (UK£393, US$687).

These are current prices as of yesterday from the manufacturer in Italy, although I notice that Technoresearch list the prices at considerably less (US$150 for the wiring and US$330 for the module). It may be worth checking the prices with them if/when you order, as the exchange rate may have changed since they listed the prices.

Pretty much everything is already available for tuning the XB, such as heads, big bore kits, airbox mods, cams etc. If there is something in particular that you would like to see we'll do our best : )

Thanks for the info Matt! It is refreshing to see some more options for our XBs and to see more companies offering new stuff. It should make the old arguments about "which pipe is best" more interesting.

how about a six speed transmission? overdrive 6th gear. I'm sure baker or jim's has the capability, they just aren't interested...yet. Hmmmm It would ideally need to be the new style of tranny, 06+ spec to improve shift quality. It should also be backwards compatible with any model xb, and the sportsters that use the thunderstorm motor.

Dyno figures on the race setup would be a little meaningless really, as each race engine will be very different in terms of tuning. The Free Spirits bike has well in excess of 100rwbhp and features a lot of non standard parts.

The road version is so new that we haven't got figures yet.

As far as the 6sp box is concerned, I believe (although I'm not 100% sure) that the reason no-one makes one is that there just isn't space for it in the casing.
