Just like to hear some opinions from people who have the drummer pipe (or any other pipe for that matter). After break-in, I'll be getting a pipe etc. for the XB12Ss and I'd like to get one which doesn't take away from the bottom end torque, gives a decent hp gain, and has a nice rumble to it while not being annoyingly loud. I know this topic has probably been beat to death, but I'm fairly new to the board so any help would be appreciated. Thanks and God bless. |

I am normally not one of those who would say "peform a search first" but holy cow, this is probably one of the most talked about subject on BadWeb!! The general consensus is that: The DRUMMER = The SH*T! Haven't heard but like 1 person ever have it's not the best performing pipe for a stock motored XB. I bet you'll have like 10K hits if you searched. It's just part of the vocabulary of BadWeb. I don't think you'll be disappointed... the New SS Drummer is the absolute dog's bullocks... I installed the Drummer on my 2003 XB9R along with the Race ECM. I already had cut the 12 Airbox so that only the top portion was in place and added a K&N. To this day I continue to be amazed at the transformation in the bikes power throughout the entire rev range. This pipe really woke up the bike both performance and sound wise. I highly recommend this pipe. I would also recommend contacting Kevin to explain what you want from the bike...he really does know what he is doing. |

Somebody has a video clip of mine on a dyno. The drummer has been great to me for the last 18 months, even with the stock ECM the entire time. |

It's a great muffler, I recommend it without reservation. The biggest difference is in the low revs. |

I'm sure that Kevin does a great job and he is awesome to deal with, but I know 3 guys here in KC that pretty much made their own for about $15 a piece. Cut off the back of the pipe gut it and weld it back up. You can even put an extra outlet on it if you would like. Just my .02, I'm not trying to be a jerk, so don't bother flaming me. I just can't see spending that kind of money for someone to take apart the big ugly stock can. I guess most people dont have the tools, skills, and or confidence to rip into their cans. Considering the time Kevin has put into developing his techniques and final product I think its well worth the investment. Its also not big and ugly when he's done with it. Kevin is also a great guy to deal with. He wants to answer any and all questions and wants happy customers. Sorry, Olin not tryin to rip ya. just my .02 |

No offense taken Madsx. I know that Kevin has a lot of R & D hours in the Drummer and I have always heard that he takes really good care of his customers. I'm not saying that Kevin doesn't do an awesome job or that the Drummer is a piece, I'm just saying that it can be done on your own. |

If you just want a louder system, then do what Olin says, it's cheap and works. If you want improved performance, go with the Drummer. |

I have been to Kevin's shop. The Drummer is not just a stock can that has been gutted. Kevin could talk for hours about air flow and how he developed his pipes. Make no mistake about it, Kevin reworks these pipes into a completely new product. I suggest calling Kevin. After two minutes, you will be convinced to buy from him. |

Cut off the back of the pipe gut it and weld it back up. Not a flame just a fact - Nothing could be further from the truth than that statement. I know exactly what he does and the R&D effort that went into it. If you want noise, cut away... if you want performance get a Drummer. The all new Drummer SS is a totally new design not made from a stock muffler. It is one of the best performing and looking mufflers on the market today. Check out the sponsors' section or the KV for more information. |
