Does anyone know of any aftermarket tachs for the xb9? I've never liked the offset look nor the size. Then again, by the time I change everything, Buell will have released an altogether better motorcycle. Any suggestions? |

Gee, why don't I answer my own question? I found these links but have no clue as to whether they're an option for the Buell: http://www.riderstation.com/catalog/proddetail.php?prod=SP500W http://www.jcwhitney.com/autoparts/Browse/tf-Browse/s-10101/showAll-0/showCustom -0/N-111+10201+600002124/c-10101 http://www.sudco.com/autometer.html#carbon http://procycle.autometer.com/2003_catalog/procycle_tachs/procycle_tachs.html |

The issue has to deal with the wiring for the ECM. There is a connection that runs through the speedo/tach housing and it is missing, the system won't run. You can run any electic tach that will work for a 2 cylinder bike...but you also have to replace the speedo with an electric unit, and you still have the ECM issue. |

Wycked, I'm lost. There's no connection from the tach/speedo to the ECM? How does the ECM control fuel delivery if it doesn't know the bike's running speed? I know the EFI maps control throttle positions but is that independent of the tach/speedo? |

There is one available through a UK outfit called translogic. EMA sells their stuff here in the states I have their ps4 system on my bike. It incorporates a dash display with shift light, gear indicator, tach, lap timer, oh yeah and a high speed linear actuator (with ignition interupt) for up and down shifts. The stuff is pricey, but it is good. (and the only way I can still ride) Hope this helps. I would add a link, however they are not a sponsor of the board. |

Buellmonkey, there is an EXTRA connection that runs from the ECM that would be missing from aftermarket gauges. So you would have to figure out what that extra connection would have to be connected to in order for the system to work properly. |

Wycked, Diablo, Thanks for the info. I would like to see Diablo's setup if he can post pics. I went on EMA's website (it's ema-usa), cool stuff. Now, I have to find someone who knows how to put this stuff on my bike. Worthless art degree... |
