I laid by bike down a few weeks ago on some grass. Ever since my spedo and tach will freeze periodically. Any sugestions at what to look at to rectify this problem? |

Do they freeze in a particular position, or do they just die like they lost power? Do both do it simultaneously, or do they each show the problem at different times? |

They seam to freeze at any given position or whatever speed or revs that I was doing at the time. Sometimes they will both quit, or one will work and the other wont. When they do freeze they will hold this position untill I power the bike off and wait a few hours. If Im lucky after a few hours they will work again fine. |

Hmm. Thats a stumper. I wonder if the guages stick when they loose power, or sweep back to zero. And I wonder which device takes the speedo and tach pulses and converts them into a signal the guages can use. I will poke at some schematics when I get home... |
