Hehehehehe......No one EVER treated us like this when we......er, YOU, were young! Whycome, ol' sage one, do we get younger the more years we add? Think about it....in the last two years, we've learnt to do dandy wheelies, been partying to the World's most famed organized speeding, you bought a FIREBREATHER and we fell into the company of THESE FOLKS ! Egads.....and you said you'd protect me! Court |

Does anyone have the factory service manual? My low beam is way too high. I think I see the screw (the one on the bottom) that seems to lower it a bit. I was wondering if the top screw had to be loosened a compartable amount, or if that one had to do with horizontal aiming. Anyone? Anyone??? |

Clip-ons...I like to lay on my tank for a bit when it gets painful...doesn't look like it can be done on the XB. |

Whoooops...you are talking 2003. I have the PARTS MANUAL and am waiting on the Service Manual and Owners Manual. Let me know what you need and I can get you taken care of. TIDBIT: If you got an owner's manual HANG ON TO IT. I am being told there was something on the order of one owners manual made per bike because "we knew there'd be mistakes and we didn't want too many of them out there". Total BS, but that's the story they're sticking with. Court |

Peyote, First of all thanks for answering, I ‘have bought the original buckle guard , sow that problem coming, because off my beer spoiler, Got my eye on some other goodies , like the black windscreen , but the charge a arm en a leg over here for Buell goodies , ( black windscreen € 197,00 about $ 180,00 , buckle guard $55,00 ) I’m planning to order one, by ASB, cost only $ 74,00 hoping it will get here without damaging , and if the P.P. stay’s under $25,00 For now I’m only happy whit my bike, Made some vibration dampers in the clipons , after the first 300 km, breaking it in , My hand’s were very num. rode the fireblast on the track today [lightning ride, no extreme speed] boy is that a fun bike to ride, if only it had a little more power... ...and if i had had the time to tweak the suspension to suit me it would have been totally excellent. R.T.F.M. S1's Still Rule |

Does anyone have any idea whether someone has manufactured a TRUE two-up seat for the Firebolt? I'll have to admit I saw one in person today for the first time and fell in love. My wife likes the Harley cruiser look, but says, "hey, get what you want, but that thing looks like it would hurt me." I did pick up the latest edition of Cycle World on the way home and they tested 10 street bikes. The Firebolt got a worse than last place comment in that dept. IMHO, the Firebolt faired well against the other 9. I think it would have rated even higher if mag writers didn't have a little subconcious bias against the Buell. BRAD |

Brad, Wait until July if you can, then watch the aftermarket suppliers like those linked at the tops of the pages here. Just speculation on my part. |

July is feasible, my wife just had our first child, six days ago, so I don't think she'll be in the mood to ride a while. Even if she was, I'm not sure she'd let anyone babysit for a month or so. |

If anybody's interested, Pensacola Buell/HD still has a white Firebolt in their showroom. I think they're asking list for it. Also, there's a new '01 White Lightning that has a good discount. |

When I got my Firebolt, I ordered the Custom Seat, Tail bag and Service Manual. The Tail bag came in - it seems well thought out, if kinda small. Should be handy for gloves, light rain-suit, garage door opener, etc.

I also picked up a Vista-Cruise throttle lock. I believe this was the one for Yamaha. In any event, I used Radio Shack Super-Lock tape to hold it in place - works perfectly. $25 well-spent.

Can anyone who owns a Firebolt help me. I am trying to see if the Rear shock will fit the Blast. The firebolt rear shock is only 250.00 for the complete unit and 700.00 for the only after market one that will fit. I was wondering if someone can measure the shock from center bolt to center bolt on the frame to the swing arm. And measure how wide it is at the base and the top were the bolts go through to hold it in place at the swing arm and the frame. And last measure how wide the spring is round. I am thinking that it will fit with a little magic.. thanks |

XB's have preload adjustable forks (as it looks like in the picture above)? What size? Cause they sure look close in size to the X1 inverted forks....could be an easy upgrade that I've been dying for. Well, now that I quickly looked at buell.com, they are. Now, anyone care to measure them and tell me what size inverted forks those are??? Neil Garretson X0.5 |

Neil, X1 forks are adjustable too. What are you meaning? |

The Firebolt forks have adjustment right on top of forks(look at blue anodized section of fork adjustment in above pic) to set fork preload.None of the other Buells have this type of adjustment.Take a look at one. |

Blake, X1's don't have preload adjustment...and I'm too lazy to keep pulling the caps off to adjust the preload spacer. Nor would the stock bars clear the adjuster...but that's not a problem. Neil Garretson X0.5 |

Hello in everything Buellistes !!! Here is my Firebolt in 2200km crossed(gone through) in 15 days after working hours, and I is him(her) Made some modifications with regard to the origin, you can see her(it) on : http://furaxjoe.ifrance.com At present I am in search of a more successful escape and than I draw to hear(understand) its power to the exit (of origin his(its, her) look like too much the noise of a BMW.) I am for your listening and I look forward to the exit of an escape for this magnificent Firebolt XB9R. I thank you beforehand and I say to you goodbye Furaxjoe http://furaxjoe.ifrance.com |

FMJ, All my Cyclones had forks ('97 with WP and '00 with Showa) with the same type preload adjustment mechanisms as shown on the XB9R above. Here's a pic... Neil, One of us is very confused here. Are you saying your X1 does not have fork preload adjusters? You cannot turn the little hex head actuator on top of each of your forks, cause they aren't there? First time I've heard that. I'd be stunned if an X1 didn't have adjustable fork preload. Check your owner's manual, you migh be pleasantly surprised. Either that or I'm wrong and you will be able to gloat about my ignorance. |

Actually, Blake, buell.com lists compression rebound and damping as the only adjustments available on the X1 (for 2002, anyway) |

Neil is correct, the X1 front fork has no preload adjustment. The rear shock does have preload. Am I a weirdo for bringing my manual to work? BMC obviously wants us to buy their race spring kit for $$$. Another item on my very long list of things to buy. Been tempted many days to sell it so I can have the more fully featured XB. |

Wow, what a dummy I am! That is crazy. No preload adjustment on the S3 or X1 front preload. Consider me enlightened. I think I'd rather have old style conventional forks with preload adjustment instead of fancy inverted forks without. Learn something new every day. Thanks guys. |

BTW, as to fitting the XB forks on an X1. Even if they are 54mm, don't forget the weight difference between the 2 bikes. Dry X1=440, dry XB=385. The spring is most likely too light for an X1. XB=21 deg and X1=23 deg. The steeper rake most likely means shorter fork legs as well. |
