Ok within the last few days I read a post from a company that they were coming out with a program that allows you to hook up a laptop or PDA or something similar and you can modify your ECM ( stock or race). I must have gone blind cause I cant find it any where now. I am sure I will feel stupid when someone posts it but hey at least I will have it then. I need to contact that company to find out an ETA for this product. No more thinking about buying a PC or TFI or whatever else is out there. Thanks for the help. John | ||

John, I'm hoping he comes back at as a sponsor. Posting marketing surveys by a non-sponsor is a big no no. I've asked him to come on board as a sponsor or partner with an existing sponsor. No reply as of yet. | ||

I am not a sponsor but a member. I am just talking about a product. Are the members not even able to discuss products anymore? I am not trying to sell for this company nor am I supporting it I was just looking for info. If we are not able to post anything about products then what is the point of this website? It is to become more informed about our Buells and the products offered for them, both good and bad. I guarantee you that everything that is discussed on this website as far as aftermarket products is not sponsored by either a manufacturer or reseller. Are we not able to discuss TFI's or anything else such as product reviews? The moderators of this board take things too far in certain instances. I don't see this as doing anything wrong. I guess next time I post a link to a website in the Apparel section I am wrong also because ICON or whomever else is not a sponsor on this website correct? If thats the case then the only thing we can talk about are products that the vendors who sponsor this site sell and also how to fix your Buell. Great!! | ||

And to think I just wasted my money on the crappy VDSTS. I mean TPS resets are great fun and all, but when you get down to it, nothing beats the deep throaty sound of a properly tuned bumperdumper. They should come standard on the 2006 Uly's. | ||

I talked to a guy last week about ordering a diagnostic tool from him and he mentioned that his company was finishing research on it... The company I talked to was MMG Management so you might look them up... Edit if you must but please... let the information for buell owners be known... thats what your here for right? Customers or Sponsors??? anyways good luck with it Yohinan... | ||

That's because you don't understand the rule... If one of our sponsors carries a product... Link to them when you need to link to that product. If one of our sponsors does NOT carry a certain product OR one that's comparable... Link to whoever in the heck you'd like. The problem only occurs when someone links to a page that's a direct competitor to one of our sponsors. If they aren't competing, then, as I understand it, there's no problem. The Micron pipe will be sold by a sponsor (American Sport Bike?). If you need to let someone know where to buy one, point them at that sponsor. It's really just a "You scratch my back I'll scratch yours" thing. Our sponsors make this site happen. We should return the favor, and make their business happen  . I've never found this, but I'd imagine that if you find something being sold for less money at a non-sponsor site you could call the sponsor that sells that product and let them know. I'd bet that they'll either tell you exactly why they can't match the price and recomend the competitor, or they'll lower their price... | ||

well thats all well and good except you don't have an open forum if you can't talk about all the products on the market... linking a page to them only simplifies the process of getting to that information... Someone will buy the product as they feel best... I think people should be allowed to express their views about available products on a forum without running into advertising issues... Your no multi-million dollar NASCAR team that can only drink coke... Your a forum where members join to discuss issues regarding a similar motorcycle brand.. YOU ARE NOT THE BRAND!!! On the other hand I appreciate the lookout for your sponsors... but lets get real about buell products... they are few and far between... so having a place to go to discuss them is nice... I don't think that a post should be edited because of a link... or lets just stop putting the blue link for one click access and just copy and paste the address into your browser... wouldn't the issue be with the sponsor... they are a retail store and can sell whatever they like... just purchase the item to resell to us... and let a competitive market continue without a forum deciding who can or can't be linked... and we wonder why its so hard to find good customized products for our Buells! | ||

M1, That's a good point you make in your post. Problem is there is no competitor for the MMG management product so why do the admin's here feel I cant list their website? Does anyone else that is a paying sponsor sell any software that allows you to edit the Buell ECM's currently? Not that I know of. It will be interesting to see if my post and Duc_htr posts get deleted for mentioning the company name again. I noticed my post from the Revolution or NHRS Performance thread was deleted after mentioning that all shops mentioned should be sponsors or they cant be talked about. Duc your last post hits the nail on the head. It is fine if the non paying members talk about products in my opinion. The admins should only hate on those that come here trying to push their product and are not paying sponsors. They go above and beyond what they should and often I feel we miss out on a product because they are over compensating for who knows what reason! As stated previously .....AND WE WONDER WHY IT'S SO HARD TO FIND GOOD CUSTOMIZED PRODUCTS FOR OUR BUELLS!!!!!!!!!!!! |
