I am considering purchasing a set for my 2004 xb12s and was wondering if anyone has experience with these tires. Looking for tires that can get more mileage than the stock Dunlops but still handle reasonable well. Any input would be great! |

Alot of the guys are runnin them here in KC...It is def. my next set...I just took a 3600 mile trip with my friends who were runnin them through all kinds of straights and twisties and they still have lot's of tread left.. I think they have about 7 thousand on the tires now and they look about 1/2 life left. |

Ya Kccyclone was talking about me, I have just over 8K on mine and they have probably another 5 or 6K left. The only problem I found is that the long trip we took put a nice flat spot on them but I will take care of that this weekend in Arkansas. I will be buying another set, they handle great and are awesome in the rain, did I tell you we rode in 16 hours straight of rain, these tires where flawless and they had 6K on them at the time also. The only reason the even got a flat spot was the straight roads from Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, South Dakota, and Montana. We only had twisty in the mountains. I bet 95% of our trip was staright long roads. Heck let me get my camera and I will get a picture of them for you. |

Remember that these are not carving the corners tires but they do do extremely well for a sport touring, so if you are looking for miles then they are a great tire. But we will see how they handle the corners this weekend. |

Can anyone compare the Conti's to a Metz Z6? The Z6 is also a sport touring tire, but leans toward the sporty side (more grip/less miles than some other sport touring tires). |

The Metz Z6 was the other tire I was looking to purchase other than the Road Attacks. Haven't seen any comparison between the two. From all your help, it looks like the Conti's might be what I am looking for. Thanks! |

Another highly regarded entrant in this field is the Michelin Pilot Road. It features good grip in wet and dry conditions and better mileage than the stickier Michelin Pilot Power. It is not suggested as a track day tire. Both these tires are described on the Michelin web site: ttp://two-wheels.michelin.com/2w/front/affich.jsp?codeRubrique=2092004104045&cod ePage=2092004104045_09092004142252&lang=EN |

I currently have 20K miles on Road Attack tires. I am nearing the end of my second set. My first set got 11k on it, and this set looks like it will only make it to about 10K. As long as Continental keeps making them, I'll keep buying them! Neither of the two sets that I have ran had any 'chicken strips' left on them, so you can forget about worrying that they won't stick. They might not be 'track tires' like you see so many other tires listed here as, but I doubt you'll find a better all around street tire. Like someone listed before they do great in the rain. Several times, in storms, cages were pulling off the higway, and I just kept cruising with no problems. They do OK in cold weather too. I ride year round (Buffalo) with no real problems (except snow...need a studded set!). But, after running Dunlops in the cold, you learn what to watch out for! To me the Road Attacks are kind of like my Buell... They don't get all the press that the race replica's get. But, they are very reliable, keep me grinning from sidewall to sidewall, and perfect for everyday 'real life' riding! |

Your right! they do not receive any press at all but from what you guys have been saying, they should. I can't find them at any bike shops here in Denver. they will only special order them. thanks! Whats a fair price to pay for them? |

I am also very pleased with them. I send a email to Continental asking a question about the tires, got a reply, sent a note back saying that I was on my second set and since I was a good customer that I should get a free hat. Joking of course, next thing I got a hat in the mail. Free stuff! Swag! Way cool by me. Also really like the performance of the tires. I have run mine up to the edge and they are great in the wet. |

It sounds like Continental is making a great tire with some exceptional mileage performance. Since everyones tire wear is different, can you guys that have used these tires give us as a point of reference what other tires you have used and how many miles did you get out of them. |

Quite a few guys in KC have bought the Road Attacks from different places and they have all been between $200 and $215 delivered. TireExpress had the quickest shipping time. |

I have a set on a 9r. They do good for street riding and in the rain as others have mentioned, but drag some knees, get em hot, and they get greasy in a hurry. Power slides out of corners if you're lucky. If not, it'll put you in the ditch or kitty litter. IF you ride aggressive, get some pIlot Powers, D208s' or Pirelli Diablo's. Much better for that kind of riding. |

I don't know Noface. There was a German site linked from the Quick Board with video of a XB12S tearing throught some very windy roads and his bike was wearing the Road Attacks. |
