I know the swingarms for the Uli and the Ss models are new, but those extended rearhuggers are *exactly* what I've been looking for to keep some of the Florida rain I seem to always ride through from splattering up my back. So, my question: Anybody know if they'll fit on the shorter XB swingarms or do they attach differently? Thanks, Geof |

I'll know for sure in a couple weeks when I get one in to look at. |

I've already asked Dave about it for my 9S, for the same reason: I'm tired of the back-soaker I get every time I ride in/ after it rains! I can't imagine it cannot be made to fit, even if it's not an exact bolt-on... -Mike |

With the longer swingarm the radius will likely be wrong. If it fits an S, I'm in for one. Otherwise, an extended CF one from American Sportbike. Let us know, Dave! Also anxiously awaiting reviews of the Select seat, and saving my pennies. Bill |

New Swingarm Rear Inner Fenders will not fit up to the "old" style swingarm. Mounting points are completely different. |

I'm not sure how a hugger would prevent the 'rooster tail' of water. A huggers job is to protect your shock and a portion of the undertail from debris. It's too far in to prevent water spraying on your back. You'll need a longer fender up high or at least sticking out more towards the rear. Like the Uly. or other mods I've seen people make to extend the rear fender using plexi on the R models. Not sure how you would prevent this on the S beyond a solid 'grater'. |

I do. Chop the grater, and add a floppable backrest like on the Ulysses. Flat on the seat for normal use, straight up for two up, and all the way back for "keep the tail off my back in the rain". |

Thanks, Anony, that's kinda what I was expecting. Typeone, what you say makes sense, and is definitely in line with what I've thought. There are enough folks on this board, though, that say the CF extended hugger reduces the amount of water and grit that gets thrown up onto the break light and your (or your pillion's) back, that I'm betting it does do something. I'm just not a big fan of CF doodads. Black plastic is just fine by me. -Geof |

Why Buell don't offer a replacement part for the little rearhuggers. A longer one with better protection. I'm sure lots of Bueller will buy that. I'm probably the first! Anonymous? ... |

Ever see the little spoiler looking dealios that some foreign bikes commonly have, like in Japan. Pretty sure those are the anti-back-splash things y'all are wanting. A long fender would need to be very very long to reach far enough back to prevent the back-splashing. |

Blake said: Ever see the little spoiler looking dealios... No, got a pic somewhere? I have seen a doo-dad on some BMW's that looks like an anti-back-splash device, though. It connects to the axle and wraps up and around the rear of the tire (at 280 degrees or so). Looked kinda dorky, but I bet it worked. -Geof (Message edited by geofg on August 03, 2005) |

Anybody know where to get one of these "Antisplashies"? Briefly spotted one of these on a yellow nine, ridden by some old guy in Sag Harbor. Never was able to catch up with the dude, he seemed to know the local roads pretty good:-)

The hugger is a piece of plastic with 2 holes in it... You don't think there will be a way to pop t new holes in it to make it work? The tire diameter remains the same, so the arc of the hugger would be the same... Just mulling it over still... -Mike |
