Anyone have a good trick to get the battery strap back on? Tried needle nose pliers. Surely cant do it w/ just bare hands. I think i need a third hand. |

Mark, I took an old screwdriver and cut a v-shaped notch in the blade. The notch captures the wire portion of the strap and allows you to hook it back in place. Using your other hand to provide slack in the strap makes it a bit easier. Keith |

typically I remove the rear fairing/tail when I'm removing the battery, also the under fairing can be removed/dropped to get it back on.. makes it real easy to get the strap back on, but it's almost like going around your elbow to get to your A$$... hmm wonder if buell engineers ever tried changing/removing the battery *grin* But on a serious note, and in agreement with SKully, using your other hand to keep tension on the strap to add slack normally allows you enough give to fish hook it on the retaining clip. Takes some practice, better get a rod and reel, and some beer.. Goin' fishin'! |

I've found that if I stretch it over the battery and press it against the battery with the heel of my left hand, it takes enough tension off the free end that it is pretty easy to attach it. |

Yup Ridiculously stretch it then hold on for dear life as you try to get the metal loop on repeat 5-10 times with swearing in between until you get it |

Actually, the more you stretch it before you even attempt to put in on, the easier it is...just think of it as a small workout for your arms (you can actually notice the rubber (?) heating up). Stretch many times before application... |
