I was just out inspecting my bike and noticed a crack going across the front of my D&D up near where the chin fairing mounts to it. It's across the "plate" part in front of the actual can, just below the pipe and goes about 2/3 of the way across. I just emailed D&D about it, but wanted to know if anyone else has had anything like this happen. And no, I did not bottom it out on anything, apparently it's just from stress. Well, if D&D won't do anything for me, it may be time for a new exhaust......hmmmm, drummer, latus, special o.p.s., jardine - decisions, decisions! |

There have been a couple that did that, D+D took care of them. |

I recently noticed the new ones have a hat section welded under that plate lengthwise to reinforce it. I am not sure when that change got implemented. But it shows that D&D recognizes that there is a weak point there, so I suspect they'll take care of you. Al |

Yea I got my D&D just a month or 2 ago, it looked like that they really beefed up that area. |

Thanks for the heads-up guys. I think I must have one of the first ones they made for the 12R as the exhaust pipes look like giant drain pipes - no exhaust tips at all like on the newer ones. The pipes themselves also look like they have been hand-hammered/bent into shape at the outlet bends. Well, I will just wait and see what D&D say. In the meantime, I cold-welded it with some JB Weld and it seems pretty stable for the time being. |
