i recently bought an undertail in carbon fiber. I ended up getting it for 35 dollars only to find that its for the lightning and not my bolt. if anyone is interested, ill sell it for 35 and you have to send me a box to ship it in. i know it sounds like a pain in the but trust me... its alot better than waiting on me to ship it to you. has anyone else tried any other carbon fiber from madsen productions off of ebay? im thinking of buying a couple of other things from them like the airbox and rear cowl. |

Carbon is what you pay for it. Cheap carbon fiber is, well, cheap. Look up a few posts from Al Lighton about CF production and the ins and outs of the whole process. Quality stuff isn't cheap, but it is worth it. Prior |

There are several threads that I've come across here relating to the crappy carbon fiber parts that people buy off ebay. Do yourself a favor. Whether you want the C/F for looks (like me) or you're a gram-counting racer get it from Trojan or American Sportbike. |

Hey, speaking from experience, I would say don't do it. I took my chances with the carbon airbox cover and although it looks good enough for what I paid, the fit isn't all that great. The little part at the very front that goes around the fuel filler sticks out and the bolt on the triple clamp rubs it when the bars are full-lock to the left. I am going to just grind it down a little. Also the mounting holes were ridiculously tiny and had to be drilled out too. I also picked up a belly pan from Allcarbonfiber that fit and looked great, but after less than 34 miles, one of the mounting points completely blew out and the two in the front are showing some serious stress. I emailed them the other day to try and resolve the problem but haven't heard back. Bottom line is, the stuff from Allcarbonfiber and Madsen is all very low-quality crap and in this case, there is no such thing as a great deal. Lesson learned...... |

I got a lower belt guard for six bucks. The shipping and handling was 15, so when I found that it was too warped to install, I was left in a pickle and the allcarbofiber person told me that they couldn't replace it because they had not spare inventory, just what was for sale. I was going to send it back but I had a bad feeling I'd never get my refund. On the other hand, I bought a fly screen that turned out just fine. |

I bought some carbon off of eBay from East Coast Carbon. It's 100% carbon and NOT clear coated. The fit was great. Give it a look. |

I've also noticed on some of the cheap items they charge a lot for shipping to make up for the low price. |

Here are some pics of the Madsen productions carbon from EBAY installed on my XB12S. For what I paid for it I can't really complain.
