Is the New XB12X going to get its own topic area as in the "XBX Board" or will it just sit here in the good ol' XB area......yes yes i know it still has the XB frame but it might be a good idea. |

I think that keeping it in th eXB fold is the right thing to do. Maybe not though... It IS an XB... I'd hate to miss any new info on any new XB just because I wasn't reading both sections. Waddya think Blake? |

New topic in the works... Would be much appreciated though if everyone would post technical topics to the Knowledge Vault. We're gonna be making some significant efforts to direct all tech oriented posts that way from now on. Too much disorganization makes Blake a very cranky boy. Please help with that effort if you will. |

Blake, any possibility for having the knowledge vault split into different sections for the Blast, XB's and tubers? I know I'd use it more if it were done that way. |

yes yes yes. I've wanted that for years(KV) I hate sorting through tuber stuff, and I'm sure they are sick of xb info. |

I think a comprehensive posting guide would be helpful. It seems to be a complete toss-up where to post some things: Quick Board, KV, XB, etc.? There is a HUGE amount of useful information here, but it can be very difficult to find what you're looking for. An "advanced" search feature (if that's practical) would sure be great. |

i think it should stay in the xb, it is a xb and people will be swapping parts from xb to xb kv needs a xb section, i never look there for anything because i have to search thru tubers and xb stuff |

Why? So much is common among all Buell models. Like the classifieds the battle is to get people to post the model/year of their bike in the title of their thread. Whodom, We're looking forward to being able to designate first level subtopics, like all those in the KV, for pinpoint searches. We'll also be looking forward to designating a specific time frame rather than just "after" or "before" a certain date/duration. Is that what you are thinking of? Anything else? |

Blake, That will definitely be helpful. I was also thinking full boolean searches would be neat ("..", AND, OR, -, +, etc.). My problem is I usually get way too many "hits" and have trouble narrowing it down. Thanks for asking. (Message edited by whodom on July 26, 2005) |

I'm with Ronlv, on both counts: an XB12X is still an XB, and the KV has too much non-XB 'nollij for me to wade thru. |

We have the "and" and "or" options in the search parameters. Just not combined is all. It rarely takes me more than a couple search tries to find any post I'm looking for. |

Here's what y'all are missing. With the demise of the tube framers, the XB's will dominate the knowledge vault. If we start putting all new tech topics there, the XB stuff will naturally move to the top of the list. Trust me on this. |

And if we put the model and year in the title of each of our new tech topics, it will sure make using the search utility soooo much more productive and efficient, no? Think about it... search KV - Suspension for keywords "XB12" and Race" and "shock" and "preload". Boom, you find exactly what you are looking for. Or use google. |

Well, why not use Google? I agree. The information you want is out there! If it resides on the BadWeb server, the UKBEG srver or anywhere else, who cares? Getting to the info is what you're after! Steve www.shs-consulting.co.uk |

I think it would be beneficial to separate the XB and Tube Frame KV's. A search will go through both so you wouldn't miss anything going that route but if you added XB to your search, it would help narrow it if need be. A agree though, properly formed and informative thread titles would be EXCELLENT . Just form your thread title with a search in mind. One more thing that could take some time for an admin... Maybe the old topics could be re-named to include good search info in the title. That's a lot to ask though... there are a LOT of threads here. Maybe the thread participants, upon realizing that there's some really good info in a thread could send the link to an admin so that the admin could then add a few keywords to the title? It's a convoluted and time consuming thing for sure... I think the main thing is to just get the darned members to USE the search function . |

There are some serious problems with the UI and visual hierarchy of the site that can cause confusion and the feeling of being overwhelmed with stuff to read and figure out for some end-users. Blake, want to resume talks? The new http://www.texasmotorspeedway.com/ site is up and live. That's what I was waiting on completing before doing some work for you. Things are still crazy busy, but it would be a nice break for me to spruce things up around here. |

I'm a UI designer as well Dago, nice to meet another usability freek I've been a graphic designer all my life but slipped into the experience designer/info arch role back in 2000. let me know if you guys would like any other input, always glad to lend an eye. btw, the TX Motor Speedway looks great! nice job. |

Thanks! More input is great when you have a strong chief at the helm. I'm sure Blake isn't the type to get bulldozed. So please forward any comments you have. We won't be able to re-invent the wheel. But we can sure get rid of the frames and turd-brown. This site is a Buell site, and in no way reminds me of a Buell. |

I could SO live without comic sans over turd-brown. Reminds me of the smoke-stained walls of Selma & Patty's dingy apartment. Our beloved BadWeb deserves better. |

Uh-oh...I'm getting the feeling that this project will be more trouble than it's worth. I have about as much interest in debating color choice with people as I have in debating about how much power I want out of my XB. |

I did think of one other thing that would be helpful- would it be possible to change the clipart popup window so that it can be maximized? I hate scrolling around on that thing waiting for all the icons to download trying to find the one I'm looking for. |

Just hit F11, it'll maximize it for you. F11 again will take it back. |
