I Think I made a mistake! I was reviewing old post in the Knowledge Vault and ran across people talking about drilling holes in there air box so the engine can breathe better. Well it sounded good to me so I did it to my "XB12s". I did notice a big differance. The engine sounded throatier. But I think I lost some torq.. On the other hand I belive I gained Horsepower because useally while traveling on the freeway doing 75mph the RPM is around 3700 in 5th geer. But now when I am doing 75mph I will be in 4th gear and doing 3800 RPM. My bike is stock and now I am wooried it my be runnung to lean. Or do you think it should be fine. |

I think you might be confused, RPM related to given speed(MPH) isn't going to change. |

I don't think you will be running lean. Even the new 06 models are using a open slotted air box from the factory. |

My be I am. I guess my real question is. Can or will I hurt any thing by doing this modification? |
