How much for the S series windscreens? You can't buy the cover without a matching front Just curious because at the moment I am house poor. |

Dave, the airbox cover comes with color of choice as well as all the lettering/stickers, correct? What is the leadtime? Shipping is included? How is that little piece of black plastic (with the vent) gets attached to the airbox cover? Can just that little piece be purchased separately? (Message edited by hkwan on July 26, 2005) |

Ahh Rats' A$$! If I upgrade to the new airbox I'll have to buy yet another tankbag. Oh well I guess that's the price you pay to be up to date. Next year. |

Yep! I was thinking today that I could do one of two things. 1. If I do one day get the new airbox I could have the tank bag modified to work. (cut & stitch like Jeremh says). I know an old ancient guy who redid the seats in my old Chevyized Firebird who's a master at his craft. or.. 2. Keep the airbox I have & mod it myself. Holes could be put anywhere. Mesh & glue is affordable. *shrugs* At this point I'm still kinda putting the cart in front of the horse. |

Dave, can you confirm that black piece with the vent can't be purchased alone? If I want to do it myself, how do you glue the mesh on after cutting holes? |

Hey if anybody buys a new airbox cover for your XB let me know if you want to sell your old one. The one for the XB12 with the nipple for better airflow. Ken |

Blasterd I have a partially cut XB12 one that has the sides removed for better airflow. It attaches via the front 2 and rear 2 hooks. I finally installed my American Sport Bike one. Would you be interested in that? |

Can anyone who has removed the inner airbox comment on how that affects the sound? Does the noise level increase. I'm thinking of buying the American Sport Bike Open Airbox Conversion kit and maybe the new cover as well. Thanks in advance. |

I highly recommend the American Sport Bike Open Airbox Conversion. Great kit, fits perfect. Noise level is increased. You can hear a nice intake honk when you open up the throttle. Probably more noticeable to the rider than others. I like the sound, but I wear ear plugs. Performance is greatly improved. Throttle response is better and I can feel the engine spin up faster. I have the race kit on a 12 and opening the airbox took my bike up to another level of performance. |
