Hey Glitch, thanks. Stealth, if you see this, how much did the Factory set you back? Looks FN great!!! |

I have not quite gotten all the numbers together yet...still trying to come up with a solution for the master cylinder assembly. The stock one piece assembly binds on the module/flyscreen. We had to move the unit out 1/2 inch but it still binds. I am looking for a 2-piece unit with a cylinder reservoir. I think I should be able to fit the stock assembly from an R1. |

I fitted Crossroads 54mm clip ons on our XB9S show bike. They fit above the yokes or below, and just need the screen and support spacing forwards around 1". Seating position with rear sets was more radical than the XBR.

Thanks Trojan, looks like your above the tree, how far did you have to lower the front? Looks real good! The whole bike looks awesome. Any close up picts? |

We lowered the forks by around 0.5" but there is no necessity at all with the Crossroads clip ons, as their attachment collars are extremely narrow. I'll dig out some other pics and post them once I have re-sized them.

Those must be the -7 deg.? Looks real good but, expensive. I can't find the right 'clubman' type 7/8 bar with the right center space and bend. |

These aren't the Crossroads XBS bars but their 54mm race clip-ons, which are cheaper than the XBS ones at US$209.

Thanks Trojan, that's what I'm looking for. Do you have any pre-fabbed spacers to move the fairing out? What's the bend on the bars? Thanks again! |

I just used some aluminium tubing cut to 1" length for spacers, and used longer mounting bolts. You will lose the steering lock facility, but that was never great anyway. Once the bars and screen are mounted you'd never notice the spacing. One thing I did change was the clutch cable, which was swapped for an XB9R item. This has a steel cable guide at the lever end and gives a better bend with the bars (I didn't route this through the tope triple clamp) |

Hey Trojan, are those the stock headlights? I really like the headlights/flyscreen assembly with the clip-ons. That's what I would like to do to my 12R, just drop the front fairing and mount something similar to that. As everybody knows, finding a way to hide all the necessary components up front is the problem. |

headlights are LSL MIG items. Quality is fantastic and they consist of two projector beam lights in either polished or black aluminium casings. They attach to the fork legs by means of very slim steering damper type clamps. I think Al at American Sport Bike has them in stock or we can get them from the factory. Misato also has them on his bike if you want further phots (Message edited by trojan on July 23, 2005) |

Wow Those are alot better priced that what I thought I had seen elsewhere. How much of an improvement in night visibility are they? That is only thing I am not happy with on my bike. |

The MIG lights are projector beam style, are a fair amount brighter and more focused. Think of the stock ones as floodlights, the MIG's as spot lights that illuminate the road in front of you much better. I've got them on the shop XB-S and like them a lot. They mount up very easily with just a tiny bit of harnessing work (no changes to the bike harness, you just steal the harness from the stock lights, crimp on a few pins, you're done). You also have to cut one of the bolts that are on the frame bosses flush with the end of the nut, the protrudance will hit the headlight connector. Physical mounting is about 1/2 hour after the bolt/harness mod. They look positively evil, and they're very well built. The only negative I can think of is that the polished aluminum is soft and can be scratched relatively easily. Al |

Anyone, how does the S flyscreen bracket attached to the front end? Is it at all possible to have the set-up you've shown on my R by hiding all the components necessary behind the flyscreen? I know anything is possible, just don't want it looking like S@$t. I really like the look, just don't want to relocate everything. Thanks for any help. I've been looking for a setup like the Heli bars...a little higher than the R for my S. What I decided to do is to make a set of bars. I cut up the stock bars and sleeved and brazed them. After riding it, i'm going to chop the bars to remove the upper bend and then weld the tube on. That will bring things in closer and I will be able to get the right amount of pullback. Not done yet but here are some pics. After talking with Al and watching this site, it looks like I should have bought an S instead of an R. Thinking about maybe selling her and later buying a S. Any takers? $9500 |

After going back and forth a bit on this same topic, I managed to get to a Buell Demo Day. I found that I liked the tires and handlebars of the CityX the best out of the line at that time. For me, the layout gives me a very quick steering input response without it being too much. Tatt, maybe you should test ride a CityX to see if you like that. |

I really like the bike that Trojan did with the clips-ons. That bike is the kind of aggressive little streetfighter that I've been wanting to model my bike towards. Originally I was going to get and S, but changed my mind at the last minute. I'm pissed at myself right now. I bought that bike 4/22/05. Oh well, live and learn. I put her in the classifieds last night. |

When I bought my Buell, I was looking for something a little more comfortable than a crotch rocket with Clip-Ons. I found I liked the CityX the most and was really attracted by the See through plastic. I never really liked the seat and wanted to make it a little more aggressive. Once I saw Trojans Bike, I knew that's what I wanted and Voila
