Well I had just finally gotten my SX past the 500 mile breakin. It took me over a month just to get that far. Then in the past week I have put almost another 500 miles on the bike. I just traded my stock seat for a SL seat. It sure works better for me & my leg/foot. And I just picked up my frame pucks from the dealer. Plan on washing the bike today & then installing the pucks. I also called the 2 local dealers for prices on a 1000 mile service. The first one says $260 + tax and the other was $415 + tax. This is with syn oil. So guess which shop I'm taking my bike to. I am thinking I'll buy some Mobil 1 and take it in with me. Now the only thing I am not sure about is what oil I should get for the primary?? Yes I have searched and it looks like a toss up between engine oil & gear lube. So I guess the next question is will the dealership use gear lube if I take it in to them? I went on a ride up to Hurricane Ridge on the Oly Pen this weekend with a group. This was my first group ride. It was fun and I will do this again. 2 guys dumped their bikes on the ride. One was a run off the roan on an increasing radius turn. I was right behind him and almost wrecked too because I was watching him. The second one was on the road down from Hurricane Ridge. I didn't see him go off the road so I don't know what happened. Just showed up as he was trying to pick all the twigs & grass out of his leathers & bike. 1st bike was a R1 and the second was a Daytona 600. Both bikes were still rideable. I rode better than I have ever before. I can't say enough about how well my SX handles. The Pirelli Scorpion tyres are awesome. I was dragging my left foot a lot I was leaning so much. I seem to have a little more trouble leaning to the right. I think part of that is because of the injuries to my right leg. But I was doing 25-35 mph corners at 70+. I was the only Buell in the group & everyone wanted to know how I liked it and what I thought about the way it rode. So now I need to start looking at doing a few mods to my bike to get that little more power out of it. I think a F.A.S.T. kit is in order & a Drummer exhaust. Then a Race ECm & I should be done for a while. | ||

Put 500 miles on in a week and haven't stopped there. Bought bike in Nov. I now have 12,200 miles on it. Still going. I would like to have 13,000 miles on it before my trip in Aug. |
