I have used Third Eye Bar End mirrors for about 7000 miles, and I like them a lot. Another thing that I like is that they only cost about $10 apiece. The are available from most bicycle shops, or from LL Bean. You just remove the black plastic bar ends on your handlebars, and the push them in, and tighten the screw. Takes about 5 minutes the first time you do it. I have them on my XB9S and I find they have several advantages over the stock units: 1. They don't vibrate, so you can see astern at any rpm 2. because they are further outboard, you can see what is behind you, instead of your elbows. 3. They lower the look of the entire motorcycle. |

Eiff just put on some really nice looking mirrors on his XB9SX. I'm thinking about buying them for mine. |

How do bar end mirrors effect the hand guards on the SX? Is there a better set than some others that work well? |

The third eyes went on my 9sx with only minor mods. Pictures of the procedure are in the knowledge vault. It would be nice to have a bar end setup that sits about an inch higher though, but they work fine. |

Check out my installation of the 3rd Eyes on my XB9SX at http://mysite.verizon.net/cyergey/buell_mods_mirrors.html I love them. Gentleman_jon's numbered points are right on. I agree with all three statements. |

I have these on my XB9S and, for the most part, like them (especially for the price). I have a few complaints about them however; 1) At higher speeds (70 mph+) the mirrors tend to fold-in from the wind pressure so when I slow down I have to readjust them. 2) For MY riding position I see my elbows a lot. 3) The size is just a bit small. I tend to have pretty large blind spots. If I weren't such a cheap bastard I would get the CRG mirrors. I think the bar-end adapter that they use would elevate the mirrors just enough for me not to be looking at my elbows. I also think they are a bit larger diameter. It's just that a garage tip over with the CRGs on is going to cost about ten times the amount to fix compared with the 3rd eyes. |

You can tighten down the screws and keep them from folding up or moving unless you bump them. |

gino, if you look at the picture of the wraith you can see that they are the same mirrors that trojan offers. they are just flipped around on the wraith. |

I originally got the third eye mirrors but no matter how hard I tried I could not get them tight enough to keep them from folding at higher speeds. If you decide to go with bar end style mirrors then bite the bullet and get the CRG's. They are definately worth every penny. I ordered mine from Al at american sportbike and could not be happier with them. If you do get the CRG's just remember to get the bar end adapters. O yeah Al also includes plugs to fill the stock mounting holes. |

Lonexb.. well they aren't the "exact" same mirror.. but I see where you're getting at.. Now I'm tempted to get the Rizomas to try flipping them.. hmmm... |

I have been using these for years. Cheap, easy to install and you can see directly behind you without turning or tilting your head, a quick glance is all it takes. http://www.bugeyes.com/ |

If you rotate the third eye mirror 180 degrees in the bracket, it won't fold up. However, they will fold up backwards.. not a big deal as I always leave mine out. |

Mvasque I don't know what kind of image you are looking for, but I hated the bug/antenna like mirrors that came on the Buell. I don't like the bar end mirrors either. Besides, where I live I snake through the traffic, and I don't want anything that adds to my width. I went for a couple of lower profile, chrome, rectangular mirrors off a 1999, Honda Valkyrie. They are chrome and go with my chrome handlebars too. This look is probably not what is in vogue, but it is what I like and might be of interest to you. Take a look at some of the mirrors on the rice burners to see if any of them appeal to you, then just order them from the dealer. They are metric threads, and most of them will screw right into your mirror mounts on the Buell handlebars. |

I had the Rizoma ones on my VRod and liked 'em. I couldn't mount them down cause they would hit the tank. http://pic10.picturetrail.com/VOL326/815976/2058807/58740800.jpg (Message edited by bikertrash05 on July 15, 2005) |

I've got bar end mirrors again and the only problem I have is that they don't seem so "immediate" during heavy traffic. I have to move my eyes so much that I sometimes miss close-in traffic. I would like to see some more stock like mirrors that show more than my elbows. DBird (Message edited by dbird29 on July 16, 2005) |

I got mine from Trojan Horse They are the XB9S Replacement Mirrors # XMISPL024 I have not had to adjust them since I installed them. The view is slightly less tall but slightly wider. Because of my height, these work a little better to get around my shoulders. I just couldnt get the stock lolipops to work well for me. |

Those mirrors from Trojan sure are cool. They get the same reaction from me every time I see them. Sleek, sexy and perfectly suited for the S. I guess I'm trying to say I like them. They're just a little too pricey for me at the moment but some day... oh yes.. Some day I will have a set. |

Eddiemac02180, I like the look of the bars on your bike, Which model (CR, YZ, ETC) and how much were they? How much lower than the stock bars are they? I just put Crossroads bars on mine but "my boys" keep going numb on long rides. Ken |
