I've been checking out the site for some time now and all the information I get from here has solidified for decision to get a buell (Xb12r). The only two things that have prevented me from making the purchase thus far are that I want to see what comes out for 2006 and more important is the size of the bike. the are rather small and I'm 6'5 and I dont want to look like a bear on a tricycle. I've read threads where riders my height say they fit fine but i was hoping to see some pics of 6 foot above riders on their bike. The dealers around my way dont have any xb r models for me to test ride so that is out. Thanks |

Obi, there is only one way to determine ones fit to a given chassis: test ride, preferably a good couple hours alone. your profile has no suggestion of your home base, but i think you may wish to consider travelling to visit a stocking dealer for a test ride on the bike of your choice. good luck, and enjoy. dean |

Try "Frederick HD/Buell" in Maryland I have been hearing good things about them. Unfortunately I can't find my pics of Charlieboy with XB9rgrl on the back of their XB9R. He is 6'4" and she is 5'11" and they would often ride form Yuma to Phoenix together on one bike until I sold Charlie my old 9. |

I'm 6'3" and fit just fine on my 12S. Yeah you're knees are gonna rub on the very edge of the tank/frame but less once you tuck in, or in the case of the 12R you're already there. At 6'5" your weight is probably more of an issue, so just expect to buy a more comfy seat. I can only ride about an hour before I start shifting something every 30 seconds. just don't know whether to go with the Corbin, Streetfighter, or City X seat? or maybe lower bars but not clip ons. just test ride and stay active here. If you're 6'5" and get an XB you WILL look like a bear on a tricycle. I look like a slightly shorter bear on a tricycle but I really don't care |

I'm 6'3" and I am pretty sure that I look a little large for the XB9SX. Who cares though? The thing handles like a dream.

Obi.. Yes, give Frederick a call, ask for Blain or Al in sales. I'm kind of on the heavy side, and a couple of inches shorter (5 to be exact) then you, but there is a pic of me and my XB9R in my profile. Deerhunter is taller than I, and he made a couple of simple mods to make his 'R' more comfortable for him. 'S' Pegs and a touring seat I think are all he did and he loves the bike as much as I do. Frederick will be glad to help you out. If not them, give Ft. Washington a call (they are the next most 'Buell' friendly that I know of, but Jose know's them better then I do.) Hope to see you soon.. on the road.. on your Buell.. |

Obioma, I am 6 foot 5 inches tall as well. I am also 225 pounds. I my bike is a 2003 XB9R. I fit on mine just fine. I don't have any pics because I am always riding the bike. some people I know say I look too big for the bike, but I tell you this... B4 I bought my bike, I sat on it in the showroom of Merideth HD for almost 45 minutes. I liked the way it felt, so I bought it. One thing is for sure, I have not regretted it yet. If I can find someone to ride along side of me long enough to take pics, I will post them. lol |

6'2", 210 lbs. Get the S model foot pegs, they're a straight swap, and about 35 bucks. Made a HUGE difference. My knees now fit in the frame cutouts (34" inseam). 23,000 miles so far on my 9R. |

See, that is weird. I am 6 foot 5 and I have a 36 inch inseam... and my knees fit right in the frame cut outs without the S style pegs. Who knows...... |

It might have something to do with foot placement? I'm usually good for about 200 miles on my 9R before the old knees start to cramp up and I spend most of my time with the balls of my feet on the pegs. Been thinking of getting the 'S' pegs though, just to see how that extra inch feels. As far as fit goes, I've got no complaints, it fits me, I fit it.. Although a lot of folks think I look too big for it.. When riding, it feels just fine (easy to maneuver and responsive to lighter inputs then other bikes I'd ridden in the past). |

Blublak (and anybody else) I put the lower 'S' pegs on my 12R - didn't think I noticed any difference until I was helping with a demo day and had to ride one of their 'R' bikes. I felt crunched riding it. It makes a ton of difference. Anybody tall will benefit from the lower pegs. I'm just over 6 feet and the bike feels comfortable for me. It looks tiny but as Bomber says - it's all about how it feels. Besides...for anybody to think you look funny they have to catch you! |
